Inspired by the "20 Feet from Stardom" thread

Muti's Mahler Symphony 1 with Philly.

Great early digital recording with a huge soundstage and tremendous bass dynamics.

A highly polished and good looking but doesn't quite do it for me at the end.

After all that LONG foreplay it's like 'this is it?'

Great Aussie jazz/lounge guy. Nothing too challenging, but always a pleasure to listen to.

Some of Ramsey Lewis' work included an extensive use lush orchestration with a dash of funk.

Here is one of my favourite from 1987 with an arrangement by James Mack recorded in London with Philharmonia.

In his playing he is telling a story, like it...

On original 1971 vinyl. Still plays surprisingly well.

Don't know how this one got onto my hard disk , perhaps from my ex....

The quiet passages are nice, however the more complex passages sound a bit muddy...

   On 1988 vinyl pressing.

I'm sure that you will enjoy it when you get home, some people preferred it to "Manual".

I can recommend their other and indeed their last two albums "Imperial Metric" and "Are You Earthed" which sadly ended their recordings in 2002 but at least they can still be picked up cheaply online.

Genesis ~ Live

Because I haven't listened to any live Genesis in an age and this album was excellent.

This copy is the 1994 UK Definivite Edition Remaster 5-track digitally remastered CD issue of the 1973 album recorded live at De Montfort Hall Leicester on February 25th 1973

Will require a couple of more spins to get the full potential out of this...

I had forgotten what an excellent album this is, not being a big EJ fan and having put this on at a whim.
