Jellyfish ~ Spilt Milk (1993)

Recommended on here at the weekend by Gary and Denis, this CD arrived this morning. Totally passed me by back in the day, its a delightful wee (power pop) gem. Better to have been led to it late than never have found at all, thanks chaps.

EJ, with this Schubert and if I recall the Haydn recently I'll take that as an endorsement of Cuarteto Casals.  Looking through their discography I see a nice history.  This Schubert, Haydn, Mozart, Brahms, Boccherini, Debussy.....?  Where do you recommend to start?  Of course, I'd have to fit it in with the Schumann disc with Faust, Queyras, Melnikov also!

Recommended by my son. A good indie album with a female vocalist. Got me thinking of Madder Rose, Throwing Muses, Belly, Breeders.

The new Noel Gallagher album. Only one track I dislike which actually sounds like an early oasis track. The rest is cool especially the Mexican.

Listening to live commentary... WHU v L'Arse.

I have a feeling we are gonna get destroyed, given our injury list.

Yes, I know what you mean. There are all sorts of familiar sounds going on like the Beach Boys, Beatles, ELO, Queen. Its amazing this band did not go on to do more after this. Maybe they were in the right place (musically) but at the wrong time?

Vinyl:-

Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade

Lets rock. On Vinyl:-

RUSH - Exit...Stage Left.

It amazes me you seem to piss about trying to sort out streaming, are a little disappointed with  CDs and then put on a vinyl album and even with a little surface noise the music just flows hi-res at it's best!

Hi Wiltshireman,

Thanks to my partner being a 10,000 Maniacs fan from before we got together I have been well aware of what a talent Natalie is for some time. Check out her 1999 Live album - apart from the music it is really well recorded and the rendition of Space Oddity was one of the tracks we used when demoing speakers for our Naim system. Enjoy.

I only have it on CD (now ripped) and have to say it really pinned my ears back on first hearing it. As you say it does sound incredible, a superb album IMO.
