Bob James does cover of Rameau pieces in all electronic piano.

Giving another try but this synth-sound applied to baroque music still feels cheezy like over hair sprayed hairdos from the 80s.

Hi Wiltshireman,

Thanks to my partner being a 10,000 Maniacs fan from before we got together I have been well aware of what a talent Natalie is for some time. Check out her 1999 Live album - apart from the music it is really well recorded and the rendition of Space Oddity was one of the tracks we used when demoing speakers for our Naim system. Enjoy.

I will make it my very next purchase Scott!

Since it is coming out next week I can finally say something about it. My advice is give it a listen for me it is an ok album even living with it for awhile and giving it repeated listens certainly not up there with Get Lucky.

For those that want to listen to it pop over to you tube as it is up at the moment and may get pulled down at anytime.

'Mornin' is a perfect tune for a great sunny spring day! Jeff Porcaro and Abraham Laboriel's grooves put me in a happy mood.

Kuma,

Ball bustin' Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.3.

Here Horowitz play the piece and recorded for the first time in 1930. Sonically it's historical grade but it's fascinating glimpse into the past.

Horowitz was only 27 at that time but shows tremendous technical facility both in creating his trade mark drama and in quiet passages with atmost care.

He plays like a young virtuoso  with a lot to prove to the world.

He's onto record 3 more sets before his retirement.

Patsy Cline. Greatest Hits. On HDCD from 2003. Lovely recordings from the early 1960s, rich with warmth and texture. Patsy's vocals are the obvious charm here, while Floyd Cramer's keyboards are the subtle adornment.
