Sorry Iconoclast. But i think is the best track of the compilation. Not on "official" albums.

I won't argue. Soul, R&B vocal mixed with trip hop groove = very nice indeed.

With the great Terry Callier singing (rip)

Second version

For those that want to listen to it pop over to you tube as it is up at the moment and may get pulled down at anytime.

Listening to it now. I hope is not like the last which, with all respect for a guitar player i love, is really boring imho

The local WalMart, with its ever-shrinking CD department. I've plucked a number of gems from there for $5, including my forementioned tonight Patsy Cline HDCD. One just has to be willing to paw through the melange of loose CDs in the bin and hopefully find a copy with a jewel case that's not cracked, which I did successfully tonight. Cheers!

RCA art dept. in late 40s/early 50s decided that a floating Rachmaninoff's head was a cool thing.

This is 3rd Horowitz' Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No.3 with Reiner recorded in 1951.

Once he gets into a free improv mode it is breath taking. Altho, the final movement isn’t quite together and not keeping the tension losing the plot. Very unusual for both the pianist and Reiner.

No electrifying chemistry of Toscanini.

For ljudpuff.

In Callier's last record Hidden Conversations (Mr Bongo records - 2009) there's another  but completely different  version of Live With Me.

Some tunes don't satisfy the criterium as background tunes...

It is actually pretty good for a 55 year old LP Chris; perfect for a Sunday morning listen.

On vinyl. It was either this or The Archers Omnibus on Radio 4. This particular battle, Neil won.

Streaming CD rip. Tribute album with various well known guitarists e.g. Steve Lukather (Toto), Steve Morse (Dixie Dregs, Deep Purple), Steve Howe (Yes, Asia) and even some not called Steve (Adrian Belew). Pity that they didn't cover anything from the earlier albums. All tracks are from only 3 albums: DSOTM, WYWH and The Wall.

Bert Jansch, ideal for a Sunday morning reading the papers with an espresso.

Not high res like the ones before, but defintely on the same level or beyond from artistic point of view...
