The Art of Grumiaux was outstanding and with a violin sound no one else have had.

That makes him special. Love his BACH!

Had my DAP on shuffle around Tescos just now. It switched from a Bach violin concerto to 'Come and get your love' by Redbone. Completely impossible not to break into a Huggy Bear strut!!!

First time I've ever listened to this. Bought it recently from FOPP for just £3.00 (there has never been a better time for buying CDs). Quite a change from his earlier material.

I only played this glorious LP of mono singles and B-sides yesterday, but enjoyed it so much I'm going to revisit it again:

Just had a visit from grown-up son this morning who was a little put out to discover that 'dad' has this album too.  He listens to his MP3 version on Beat headphones played through an iPhone.  Invited him to listen to my CD on my system.  Think he now knows what Royal Blood can really sound like. Yes, it's got some real bass!

Is that Irish fishing, John?

The photograph is titled "Passage".

I've being trying to think how to describe the music contained on this album, the best that I can come up with is if ECM were asked to put out a contemporary  Irish music album, this is what one would imagine it would sound like.

It's actually on Real World Records so no slouch of a label either.

Hmm. Might give that a go, John.  Intrigued by an album with a song "Hunting the Squirrel"!
