This was relevant to a thread yesterday evening but I was struggling to post the image. Original UK vinyl and in mono. Believe it or not I bought Happy Trails and the Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore on the same day - the Allmans was new out and I had been wanting the Quicksilver record for some time.

Hopefully this might work for you.  From an earlier post:

*****I may be able to help on a Mac - find the album cover at amazon or wherever, with the cursor on the cover, control/click (same time)and you will get a drop down, scroll toward bottom and choose copy image address.

come to the thread and click post replay, click the icon to the left of the smiley, paste (command key/"v" key same time) the image address into the top URL line, click in the preview window and the image should appear.  Click "insert" and the image should show in the reply window, add any remarks and click Submit Reply.*****

I have used Wikipedia many times, what album are you attempting ?

Thank you very much, Jeff! It worked - see above.

UK Forum members who grew up in the 1970s may remember that in the middle of that decade EMI started putting out TV-advertised "greatest hits" packages by the likes of The Shadows and The Beach Boys. This Sinatra one may have been the most successful. Here it is on original LP, complete with a glossy Garrod & Lofthouse-printed cover and one of those wonderful EMI promotional inner bags.

Great selection of tunes, although the SQ is a bit odd because many of the tracks were "electronically re-processed for stereo". The memories!

EFSS ~ Night on Ouddorp [14 August 2014]

I have been acquiring a fair bit of Berlin School electronic music of late (mainly from Bandcamp),  this band is a really fine example of the genre.

Yes I do remember those promotions Kevin. It got me thinking and a quick look on the River shows that on 6th April a 10 CD box set comprising of 16 of his albums from 1954 - 1962 is being released at £11.99. I was pleasantly surprised by the number and variety of 4 to 10 CD box sets available at just over a tenner. I have no idea as to the sound quality and most have been remastered.

It's on 1980s RCA vinyl. Why? 'Cause it's Lou, and you can't get much more rock 'n' roll than Mr Reed:

Thanks for the heads up Stevee, just ordered that box - at such unbelievable value (16 albums for twelve quid) it's gotta be worth a punt!

Just done the same thing Kevin, it seems  that a lot of labels are seeing an opportunity and getting in (very) early for his birthday centennial year (December 2015).

Steve

Edit* I have actually decided to go with this one a 9CD 15 album set (spanning '54 - '61) from Masterworks purely because the SQ reviews about the remastering in 16bit and or 24bit are all very positive £14.55.

ARC ~ Church [25 May 2010]

More Berlin School, an excellent well recorded, very atmospheric and rare live recording by this band who travelled from the UK to Philadelphia to play at the Gatherings concert series there. "With the impracticality of transporting so much vintage gear the duo were helped out by three local musicians who kindly lent the duo several synthesisers as well as analogue modular & sequencing systems."

UK Capitol first press. It's my favourite 'Werk album. I have very happy memories of our street party for the Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977, of bunking off round an older boy's house to smoke fags and listen to records. It was that night I heard this album for the first time, and it blew me away.

I've done likewise Stevee, that set looks even better and the reviews are very complimentary about the mastering. Should arrive tomorrow - thanks very much for alerting me!

Vinyl version of Steely Dan - Gold. I know it's cut from digital files but it sounds pretty darn good and it has FM on it.
