Holidays are always the time for box set binges, I think. Thought it's time to pig out on Lou:

Monk's Music as lossless file via Macbook Pro - Chord Hugo and into my Dad's capped 202 / 200 and Allae. Not shabby!

Sisters of Mercy - Floodland R/M & expanded.

   A brilliant LIVE recording.

Another relative bargain from Amazon. Double CD of the great man's work for £4.99. Excellent SQ as usual from Decca. CD rip via Hugo.

Stimela. Yeah great! One of the best live recordings ever and, as Graham knows, it sounds amazing on 45rpm vinyl.

AIFF CD rip. I've just gone back to this excellent compilation. Some of the alternate takes are better than the originals. The best version of 'Almost Cut My Hair' I've heard.

Rosanne Cash at her best and Annie Lennox doing some great covers. Recording/mastering top notch.

The new solo album from the Steven Rothery Band (he of Marillion guitar fame). Featuring a guest appearance from Steven Wilson and Steve Hackett....

Thanks Adrian. Sounds promising. Lovely cover shot too. Very evocative. I hope you and the family are well.

I can't find it on the allegedly wonderful and ubiquitous Spotty-lo-fi, but have it playing on Grooveshark. The recording/mastering quality sounds flat and compressed, even in lo-fi. Situation normal.

John.

I thought I'd give this a go too. Main system by Spotify. Sounds grand even in " Spotty-lo-fi"!

Nicolas Meier - Silence Talks

This is a spectacularly brilliant album. Great melodies and musicianship. Definitely in my 2014 best buys, and only £4.99 from the Naim Label sale.

This as a little bit of reggae always reminds me of many brilliant New Years Eve's past.

Happy 2015 to you all.
