Finally home after another long, hard day, I've just taken a hot bubble bath, slipped into a comfy robe and put on my favorite pair of fuzzy slippers . Now I'm curling up on the couch with a minty mojito and thumbing through some magazines. Mini quiches warming in the oven. Thought a little AC/DC played rattlingly loud would be the perfect background music.

Bruce Springsteen. Born To Run (1975). On 1995 Master Sound gold CD. I never cared for the sound production on this album and a gold CD certainly can't dress that up, but musically it's an electric album.

Last spin of the night, Maria Tipo in a 1955 recording.

Neil Young. Hawks & Doves (1980). On HDCD from 2005. Perhaps one of NY's lesser known albums, it contains several lovely acoustic arrangements.

It's been a while since I've listened to Liszt's concertos.

Still struggling to get the No.2 but Kempff's rendition makes it easier for me understand a little.

I wouldn't think he'd be good for showy dazzling Listzt's work but his usual down to earth lyrical story telling is a breath of fresh air to many of stiff overly decorated rendition of these Concertos. The music feels like it gained a freedom.  Fistoulari gives solid and earthy foundation.

Enjoyable trio jazz at it's best, while the drummer Brian Blade sometimes is a bit too much in the front...
