Paul McCartney. McCartney II. On vinyl from 1980. I had this album for over 30 years before I discovered it shipped with a 45 of "Coming Up live from Glasgow" tucked inside

Delfeayo Marsalis photo image.jpg1_zpsyl5zwspf.jpg

Son of Ellis Marsalis and Wynton's brother, he plays trombone like no one else I've ever heard.  Some cuts I wasn't even sure it was a trombone.....what a range!!!!

Smokey Robinson and The Miracles. Great Songs and Performances That Inspired the Motown 25th Anniversary T.V. Special. On vinyl from 1983. SQ varies among tracks as is often the case with historic compilations, some mono, some stereo. But the Motown vibe is present and Smokey's song writing and singing abilities shine.

Elvis Costello. This Years Model. On original vinyl from 1978. The apostrophe absent on the cover appears on the label (Year's).

Ben E. King: Rough Edges 1970 Release.

His mega hit 'Stand by Me' now will be preserved forever at Library of Congress in the National Recording Registry.

This album is a bit of an odd sort and I don't think isn't particularly a strong piece as if he was in transition before his funk phase.

Mudcrutch. On 2 heavy vinyl slabs from 2008. Somewhat of a hidden gem from Petty, and it's all analog. I always enjoy this.

Foghat. Fool For The City (1975). On MFSL vinyl from 2007. Great from a musical perspective, this album has a very closed-in, between the speakers sound, like it was recorded for AM radio. The MFSL is a slight improvement on the original vinyl with some better bottom end percussion and it tracks silently, but still sounds constricted and veiled overall.

Listened during my workout to Triology from Chick Corea, Brian Blade and .... Forgotten right now). This album has been rewarded and it's indeed a special one. However I am missing a bit the magical aspect of the  trio which is long playing together.
