The White Stripes - Elephant (2003)
Vinyl
What do you think about this one? I'm always about to get it.........
It is probably my favourite White Strips album Gianluigi; it is raw, lots of bass, it was recorded in two weeks on 50 year old equipment - although I also have in on CD and FLAC rip, to my ears it does sound much better on vinyl.

Ozric Tentacles -Pungent Effulgent - on reissue c.d.
if others turn their noses up at this sort of music, it's because it's full of guitar whiffs.

Just make sure you get the album by the White Stripes and not the White Strips as I have typed above!
iTunes/iMac CD rip AIFF, not listened to this for a while, great guests:-
Robbie Robertson - How To Become A Clairvoyant
Toe tapping right now
Another first spin of a song recital. Christian Gerhaher has a high baritone, very evenly produced. He lends these mostly moody songs a sad, sweet quality - not for every moment of the day, but brilliant right now.
EJ
Second spin. Striking how much he sounds like the young Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, in the 50s and early 60s, before he started to develop his bark.

Bob Marley And The Wailers - Live (1975)
Original vinyl

Genesis ~ Selling England By the Pound (1973)
The 2008 remaster.
Ozric Tentacles "Spice Doubt Streaming" a gig in the Ether - c.d.
originally recorded live exclusively for an internet audience, the numbers seem to collapse into eerie silence of unmeasurable emptiness. I love the version of 'Eternal Wheel' on this.

Yes ~ Close to The Edge (1972)
The 2003 remaster, part of the 12 CD Studio Albums '69-'87 box set.

Bad Company ~ The Original Bad Co. Anthology (1999)
"Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprised of ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free. Powered by Rodgers' muscular vocals and Ralphs' blues-based guitar work,
Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song vanity label. Their eponymous 1974 debut was an international hit, topping the U.S. album charts and scoring with the number one single "Can't Get Enough of Your Love."
One of my first Schubert Lieder records, and still a favourite.

Billie Holiday - Lady Sings The Blues (1956)
Original vinyl
SJB
Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day
Delightful. Puts happiness into the soul.
Frank Zappa/The Mothers -Roxy & Elsewhere- on c.d.
live recording from 1974.
Bought the LP (in 1982) for Bottesini's Grand Duo Concertant but the Rossini's String Sonatas were a pleasant surprise.

Now I am so sorry that he cancelled the gig last year due to illness.
He was supposed to winer Winerreise! ( and of course one of my fave is earlier Fischer-Dieskau/Moore set )
I have to make a mental note on this new recording, EJ.
Thanks for posting.
