Great album. Nice interplay between guitar and piano. A lot of drive. Bottom line one of the better jazz releases so far..

His playing is very delicate and I appreciate this release as one of the better classical piano release of this year. If you haven't heard this - give it a try...

Led Zeppelin III (1970). From the Complete Studio Recordings CD boxset 1993. Had to cure a hankering to hear the crawling blues on Since I've Been Loving You.

Why? Why not? One can't have too much Nick Cave.

Never a dull moment, we'll know super album. I guess a lot of us have it in the collection....

Having seen the worrying news about her, I thought I give this a spin.  Hoping Joni recovers soon.

Gergiev/Mariinsky's Shosty's 8th.

Modern reading with spacious overall balance. Perhaps less intense and sinister than Mravinsky and has more of soundtrack feel.

Greater void and emptiness than burst of outcry. Kafka-esque 1 & 2nd movements seem to go on forever without much firm direction. Even the suspense filled 3rd movement feels a bit dull due to lack of tension. Notes do no stand on the edge like Mravinsky set. Instead, what we got here is a bunch of zombies wandering about on gray bombed out city streets.
