Bob Mould-Beauty and Ruin on vinyl.
Frank Zappa/The Mothers -Roxy & Elsewhere- on c.d.
live recording from 1974.
And quite a good one.
Unfortunately, the two talented musicians are not among the living anymore.
Andrew Bird - I Want to See Pulaski at Night
(2013) CD
Mostly instrumental 7 song album/EP. I find it very enjoyable.
Out next Monday.
Album art reminds me of Muddy Waters - Folk Singer.
From 'Bob Dylan - The Original Mono Recordings' CD box set.
Engaging performances
Richter's Liszt Concertos.
The music has more authority and imposing quality. Absolutely brilliant and dazzling piano playing with orchestra that plays as one with Richter.
Tough act to follow. Contrasting Giulini/Berman Liszt Concertos.
Gentler and relaxed than Kondrashin set. Piano also not as keyed up as Richter. Spacious and larger than life reminding me of a gentle wave of ocean. Lack of tension and variations in colours and textures ultimately loses my interest midway. Orchestra also stays in a genteel side even for the stern march at end.
We have seen Acoustic Alchemy live a couple of times at the Pizza Express Jazz Club excellent musicians.
I'll give the live album a play later if it's on Spotify or whatever.
John
This is one of my favourite Jackson Browne albums. Is it a CD or a download? Thanks.
Dave
It's the CD version I have, I just have it ripped for the convenience of listening to tracks on a playlist. I was lucky enough to come across nearly 2 dozen audio fidelity/DCC/MFSL CDs in a charity shop. Felt sorry for the poor sod who bequeathed all the CDs to his progeny only for them not to realise their value!
still, they've come to a good home.

Howard, I did see them a few years ago and they are a fantastic live act. I guess it is the interaction between the players and audience. Can't beat that. I'm listening to the CD but it's also available on Spotify.
The White Stripes - Elephant (2003)
Vinyl
What do you think about this one? I'm always about to get it.........
It is probably my favourite White Strips album Gianluigi; it is raw, lots of bass, it was recorded in two weeks on 50 year old equipment - although I also have in on CD and FLAC rip to my ears it does sound much better on vinyl.
Rob
Yep!
Thank you both! So i'll get one!
Just make sure you get the album by the White Stripes and not the White Strips as I have typed above!
Not this one then!

Sarah McLachlan
"Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" (1993) mp3
Ozric Tentacles LIVE At The Pongmaster's Ball - 2 c.d.
