Then, found a Gaudier Ensemble on Hyperion that I would like. Again, not available (strike two)....

Hi Doug, this disc gets a regular airing but I wouldn't move heaven and earth to get it - a clear case of the performance elevating the music to a higher level. Isabelle Faust and friends recorded a good performance of the quartet last year, together with a few of the violin sonatas (on period instruments).

Mitsuko Uchida's Chopin means business: clean articulation, no meandering, but full of her trademark emphases and rubato. This probably doesn't sound like much of a recommendation, but her #2 is one of my all time favorites.

Having heard a very nice rendition of this on another member's vinyl system earlier today I thought I'd try out my CD version this evening. Great energy in this excellent recording of a live performance.

This is the only album of his that I have; must get some more. He was a real genius.
Earlier today during a workout I listened to one of the best rock albums of all times. Especially the camera eye is one of my favorites. Now having it in high res makes it even better.
Later in the workout I listened to this album, which is for me classes away from Moving Pictures, also too much synthesizer ....
