Steve, you're full of surprises. If you ever want to talk to someone,  I'm here.

There's nothing wrong with a bit of Dire Straits now and again. Now if it were Boney M or The Smiths it would be a different matter.

Mary Coughlan - Love for Sale (Vinyl)

I don't play this album often enough. Beautifully performed with feeling. It's a well recorded live album too.

Il Tabarro, a violent 1 act opera by Puccini and IMO his best. For this recording, Carlo Guelfi and Neil Shicoff gave absolutely riveting performances as the wronged husband and his rival. True to all good opera, somebody dies

Dirtier ~ The Carrier (2014)

Dirtwire, an electro-acoustic duo born of David Satori (Beats Antique) and Evan Fraser (Bolo) making very good (Americana) music here.

Apologies for the typo caused by predictive text I have now amended the band's name above to Dirtwire as it should be.

Mombi ~ The Wounded Beat (2011)

Surprisingly only a few followers over on Bandcamp as this is a good album.

"Mombi is Kael Smith, Matt Herron and Michael Behrenhausen. Sharing a love for solid songwriting and adventurous studio experimentation, the band builds their sound around carefully textured layers of guitars and keys, a seamless blend of digital beats and live drums and Smith's affecting vocals."

Carbon Based Lifeforms ~ Interloper (2010)

Lovely ambient / acid ambient sounds from this Swedish band  rolling over the eardrums.

Thanks for the info. Definitely Antilles, black label, red sun and green palm tree with blue sea. Run out grooves inscribed by hand,   A-     "For Leo"  on side A, and    A-2     "For Judy"  on B   as well as the catalogue AN 1012 A/B. Oh, and she's mint. Very happy, sounds so good.

C.

Sounds very original. Mine has similar markings but is A-3. You now need to look out for To Hot To Touch (Windham Hill label) and On The Live Side (Windham Hill / Magenta). Enjoy the hunt.

Looking forward to the Progeny set (Highlights, anyway) to hear if the sound quality improves...this was never the best sounding classic Yes album.
