Truly excellent performances of what is - let's face it - not Mozart's best music. The best thing are the cadenzas, specially composed for this recording.

This from the 2014 Music Matters Blue Note 33rpm series. Just had a email that the first releases of the 2015 series will be shipped next week. Herbie Hancock's Maiden Voyage and Eric Dolphy's Out to Lunch, looking forward to both albums.

Worth the qobuz streaming fee alone. A great discovery.

A supreme Boccheriini with Lislevand on the lute and Cocset playing the cello.

Tangerine Dream ~ Tangram

Originally recorded in 1980, this one a remastered version from '95.

I don't usually enjoy TD's work beyond the 70s with "Exit" in '81 being the exception. Although listenable (in two, twenty minute sets) this has not done much to change that opinion.

+ 1. Their Second album "First Pull Up Then Pull Down" is worth finding too.

This is one of my favourite Jackson Browne albums. Is it a CD or a download? Thanks.

Dave

It's the CD version I have, I just have it ripped for the convenience of listening to tracks on a playlist. I was lucky enough to come across nearly 2 dozen audio fidelity/DCC/MFSL CDs in a charity shop. Felt sorry for the poor sod who bequeathed all the CDs to his progeny only for them not to realise their value!

still, they've come to a good home.

SJB

If you can't afford the DCC get a copy of the Japanese 20P2 disc as it has a beautiful warm analogue sound to it.

How about the 24 bit - 96Khz. "Late For The Sky" (Édition Studio Masters) download from Qobuz?

Dave

I've had a listen to the 3 versions I have, In reality I find all 3 versions have their positives. None are ugly though. If you have a CD version I'd see little point in replacing it. If not the 2014 remaster is certainly good so presumably  the 24bit version will be at least as good (some believe it will actually sound better!)

Casualties of Cool, Devin Townsend. Incredible album. A real find and a one-off methinks. So much in this album and sounds wonderful on the Superuniti. Recommended.
