Basically they sound like Ravel on acid.

First time listening to Pollini plays Debussy.
I was curious to see how he handles Debussy's generally dreamy pieces.
A great combination of power and grace tethered together with laser precision note delivery. There isn’t much of *impressionistic* pastel hued Debussy here but this is one mean powerful rendition giving the familiar tunes new lease in life. Extremely vivid, Chromatic figuration is just breathtaking. He can depict a magic smoke sucked right into a Genie’s bottle.
These tunes are good vehicle for Pollini to show off his superrb dexterity as well as his icy elegance I love.
A nice surprise.

Nice air in the recording, she plays it well but hasn't yet the maturity in her playing to let it sing she instead plays it very well. Meaning a good recording, but I prefer Ivo Pogerlich recording more...

Simply described as the first meeting of the four (in this area by the sea in Holland), its one of my favourite recent Berlin School downloads.
