Now there's an idea for the playlist, I haven't listened to it in decades.
Always think he is forgotten about even though his first 2 albums were really good. I used to have a live promo album that was recorded round about the time of his first album that was never issued. I believe very few were ever made.
You've one hell of a record collection, ewemon. I barely recognise many of the albums too!
And another of Mary's early albums. Rather relieved to say my system still sounds enjoyable even after the demo SL cables went back. Phew!
I ordered the 1979 one to replace my vinyl.
Streaming | CD FLAC rip
Jethro Tull ~ Stormwatch (1979)
This one remastered in 2004 but sounding fine.
Rush, Moving Pictures, first day back from a trip to the lakes and warming my system up with the bestgroupp's best album. Flac streamed via Hugo
Is ideal for people who are afraid for jazz, easy accessible, good sound...

I hold a lot on HDD and have about 5000 cd's in my collection however every 6 months or so I have a clearout to make room for new titles.
Supertramp Live 3 Lp set from a radio transcription set probably recorded on the 1979 tour and only released to radio stations to promote their up and coming album.
Black Crowes official live recording from their 91 tour.
John Mellencamp Live in Europe official recording.
Last one for this evening. Bruce Springsteen complete MTV performance direct from the recording truck raw and unedited.
Belly-Star From my indie pop 90s era.
Why do so few people answer the question "and why might anyone be interested"??? This thread each year just becomes an overburdoned list of music. But when people DO answer the question it can be interesting, and sometimes may lead others to discover new things.
So, please anyone posting answer the question, and Richard, please delete all that don't!
Exterminate!

Totally correct observation.
I might not share someone's taste but if they advocate it it well, then I might at least look at youtube to check it out.

Rich of you to criticise when you don't even post your own listening choices.

Thank you for your decidedly unhelpful reply.
what is the point of posting when you don't explain why anyone would be interested? This thread ends up as simply a list of music, and as such is meaningless. I was going to start adding to it - with my explanation- but it seems rather pointless given response like yours, and your own posts if the last one of yours is anything to go by.
You will get no proper response or respect from me until you start practicing what you are trying to preach.

Sorry, your again unhelpful response doesn't deserve anything other than derision, unless you either explain why you don't answer the question, or start doing so.
It's been a funny day today and it took me ages to figure out what I actually wanted to listen to. Finally settled on ...
Steven Wilson - Hand Cannot. Erase (FLAC 44.1kHz 16bit until I can find a way to rip from my bluray). Which I think is one of the best albums he's done. I especially like 'Routine'. This led on to ...
Kompendium - Beneath The Waves (FLAC 44.1kHz 16 bit) downloaded from Bandcamp. IMHO A prog masterpiece taken as a whole and some of the individual tracks are stunning in their own right. Finally leading on to ...
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells (48kHz 24bit) which has always been one of my favourite pieces of music since I first heard it, more years ago than I care to remember.
John Mellencamp. His eponymous 1998 album on HDCD. Not a commercial success, but to me a very tuneful album. The serious, thoughtful songs are buoyed by enough fun, poppy music to keep the overall tone upbeat.

I will have you know Tony that this is considered a classic country gospel album and especially the track I Dreamed about Mama Last Night. Now where's that Tears for Fears album when you need it?

Never really took to this album after his great trio of albums starting with Scraecrow.
