Toscanini's 5th is amongst the most exciting and dynamic set I have heard.

What a thrill ride~ His final movement still gives me a chill even via poor broadcast quality sound. I can't just imagine to experience his live concert.

On vinyl from 1977 - not a huge fan, but this live show is excellent and well recorded. Plenty of copies going for peanuts!

I love this odd couple. AT the time of this recording they were 50 years apart in age. ( Gould@ 34, Stokowski 84 )

From the first bar, you know Gould is doing his own thing.

No one has an audacity to play like that today.

Sublime performance.

In the pantheon of classical music's also-rans, Jenö Hubay (née Hubert) has a small seat - competent, occasionally inspired but largely superficial. In these aspects his violin concertos resemble those of Paganini, although the sound world is closer to Brahms. Chloë Hanslip does a great job bringing them to life.

This is the type of music that I love getting via those second hand 1 cent + P&P deals, or, in this case, at less than GBP3 for FLAC download (+ a few p to burn a CD).

The last of my favourite Patti Austin's GRP release 'Love is gonna getcha' on vinyl LP.

They must have put on 24/96 files on this LP release. The sound of CD always sounded strident but this *digital* vinyl has much more natural midrange just as a high res. files would sound.

Love this album great Rock

Bruce Springsteen. Magic. On CD from 2007. My first-ever listen to this album. Compared to the preceding 'The Rising' and 'Devils & Dust' this seems like a transitional return to a more poppy commercial sound with the E Street Band. Mainstream good, but not as gutsy.

Anyone ever notice a similarity between 'Girls In Their Summer Clothes' and The Who's 'The Kids Are Alright'?

Audio rip of Merger- Exile in a Babylon. The album didn't do them justice as live they were amazing.
