Alborosie meets King Jammy: "Dub of Thrones".

Because I just got it on vinyl, the bass rocks the foundations of the house and it's dubin' fantastic!

listening from the balcony, a bit difficult as the water and the road is sounding in the background ....and I don't want to put it to extreme volume...

Had a Radio Paradise afternoon the 320 feed sounding especially good  today. See comment/question in MacMini vs NDX  thread.

I'm in an industrial mood this afternoon. So here's the very apex of the genre, released in '79. This is Chris Carter's marvellous 2014 vinyl remaster. Gotta love the Gristle!

Throbbing Gristle: 20 Jazz-Funk Greats

Posted on: 15 May 2015 by Bert Schurink

Very contemplative, almost depressive sounding music...., not my favorite solo piano from Keith...

Brillant new album from Howe Gelb.

Compulsion/Crispy Ambulance, RSD 2015 vinyl. I've just been playing Throbbing Gristle, and the Crispies were TG fanatics...

Elton John ~ Blue Moves (1976)

Probably my personal favourite from EJ but it was not universally liked or appreciated when it was first released. It's sounding lovely here on this SHM-CD imported from Japan.

Archive - Controlling Crowds The Complete Edition Parts I - IV

Reminds me, I have their latest album on vinyl, which I haven't yet unwrapped...

Give Londinium a try. Not cheap but there's a double vinyl version that must sound great!

On to CD 2 and it's sounding sweet.

Thanks Gianluigi.  Yes, Londinium is a long time favourite.  Amazing it didn't do so well in the UK.  I guess Massive Attack got all the attention

A pumping rhytm section behind the Piano, that's new jazz :-), quite nice...

OMG. I thought I was the only Archive fan on the forum. Love this album but prefer Lights. Restriction (the latest release) is excellent albeit more commercial. Top SQ on vinyl.

Massive Attack were more lo fi. More rough. More homemade hip hop but still romantic.

Archives' All Time is a masterpiece but during the Aphex Twin invasion here i saved my soul with this

Mark Knopfler & Emmylou Harris  ~ All The Road Running (2006)

A lovely album even more so when one realises how it was put together.

"Over the last seven years, Knopfler and Emmylou Harris quietly recorded this album by stealing "a few precious hours of studio time here and there," as the ex-Dire Straits singer/guitarist puts it"...

With Us Until You'Re Dead

Inspired by Richard earlier.....Archive-With us until you`re dead  streaming wav its probably their darkest album and takes a bit of getting into but well worth the effort....superb stuff they just get better and better and deserve far more credit imho another good album of theirs is ``You all look the same to me``from 2002

Hozier - Hozier. A very good album powerful both musically and in the meanings and lyrics. Bluesey in places and very engaging. The hit 'Take Me To Church' is the track which prompted me to get the album and is a classic in the making. If you get a chance have a listen, you might just like it.

I've got tickets to watch these at a festival later this year, along with Fish and others and I really know nothing by them - will have to fire up Spotify and have a listen

Good plan dayjay. It's always nice to know some of the tracks before you see someone live but I'm sure you'll like them

Van Halen. 1984. The HDCD remaster from 2000. Brings back memories of a fishing trip to southern Ontario summer of 1984. Good friends and plenty of Molsons on ice.
