Lynyrd Skynyrd. Street Survivors. Original vinyl from 1977. Looking for some time, I finally got my hands on a nice condition original. Great sonics on this pressing and musically my favorite from their first five studio albums.

So, if you have this super listening conditions at home and a system to match, this recording will probably blow your socks off.
Do you have an SACD player?

And the colour and the 'eastern' sounding of the Budapest Festival Orchestra really works for their Mahler performances. I always hear how much of an eclectic mix of music traditions Austria must have been at the time Mahler lived.
Fischer's approach makes so much sense to me.
Thank you for your reply.
I wish Cannel Classics would do 24/96 or even 24/192 DSD on vinyl.
Unfortunately, that's the only high res. format I use atm.
I haven't explored Mahler's 9th that deep but so far MMT ( Michael Tilson Thomas)/CSO's live performance has left me with a great impressions and involvement through the score. Over an hour performance with no intermission yet they kept me going all the way to the end.
I am afraid I do not possess a high-fi system to realise real life dynamics of large orchestra at full bore at home. ( maybe the S1 amps+S800 in a large room might...when fed the right source )

Tagged as Math Rock, but sounds more like jazz rock to me. The second band shares some members with the first and has an interesting sound vibraphone, violin, drums and bass.
An oldie but goldie.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Inala (1985). On Shanchie vinyl from 1986. Introduced to their music from Paul Simon's Graceland, this is my first foray into an all a cappella album. No instruments, no percussion, no amplification. Just eight human voices. I found it powerful and wonderfully engaging from start to finish.

Procol Harum ~ A Salty Sea Dog...Plus 6 (1969)
Arrived this morning c/o a Russian Discogs seller. This unofficial Russian released (in 2000) version has six additional tracks either previously unreleased or instrumental only. A classic album it's sounding very good.

Esoteric are releasing the early Procols (with bonus stuff). With their track record of excellent remastering I'm very tempted, but equally quailing at the thought of buying these for the third (or in the case of the first album, fourth) time!

As played by David previously. Great acoustic quartet from 2012, before Monobody were born.
I have tried every option I can find to link to a Flickr photo, but no matter what I do, it seems I am destined to listen to that great but little known masterpiece, 'Little white cross in a black box in a white border'.
First serious listening today with Hugo replacement the 2Qute.

The Hugo has gone, Graeme!? Do explain please

I'm still running in my new SL cables and this is one of my reference albums for assessing new stuff so a good way of testing what progress I'm making. Seal is sounding very good so I think I'm getting there.

Swapped out for a nice black 2Qute. Simply didn't require portability, pre or headphone out so thought I'd cash it in before the S/H Hugo market falters due to 2Qute pricing, TT upgraders.

I have only just noticed that myself Nick and posted up on another thread that the first Procol album is being re-released with some 37 re-masterd and remixed tracks. I am tempted...

Projected Twin ~ Earth Vs World (2013)
Another great find over on Bandcamp and one that Sorren also of this forum purchased.
His comments on this powerful prog' rock album are: "It is a multi-textured masterpiece and when you download it 'you also get two bonus demo tracks from the album writing sessions as well as the FULL Solar Soma EP "So Much for Style"'. Which would be great value even if the album was awful.
But here's the thing, it isn't. The album is actually brilliant. The music is great, lyrics are well written and well sung."

Just love this Deram first press as a 'test' disc.
