Palmanana ~ Green (2013)
Palermo Italy is hardly know as being a hot bed of stoner rock but this album has just put it on to that particular genre's musical map.
"Melodic guitar interplay over rhythmic bass runs with near jazz percussions provides an almost ethereal quality. It also has fuzzy guitar driven beats that can compete with any garage stoner outfit around. Sounds like the standard Stoner/Psych fair? Well, the trick with this album is the arrangement. Some songs build to a crescendo where others start big just to fade away like distant thunder. All have a great 'live jamming' feel to them giving a nice twist to the genre." - Harry Harrison
I wouldn't listen - just enjoying the cover...
+1, why bother to listen, watching is enough
2-LP compilation of works by much-sampled creator of moody filmic soundscapes:

A 3 CD compilation of music from the late 1960s and early 1970s to be issued in June:
It has every song on it you might expect, Scott McKenzie, Dylan, The Byrds, Yardbirds, etc, etc. The only ones missing are The Beatles and The Stones but I guess you can't have everything.
For anyone who lived through the years in question this will bring back many, many memories. Just sit back and let it wash over you...

Not played this in a while. My CD is pretty ordinary in reproduction quality (come on, Mr Wilson, we're waiting on you to weave your magic) though my new SL cables extract more from it, but the music of Stand Up shines through. Bouree and Looking Into The Sun are among my favourite Tull songs.

Oh, should have added We Used To Know - wonderful!

I've been thinking of this for a while, and finally downloaded it yesterday. What a great album.
Vini Reilly may be one of the world's great guitarists, but he's also one of the planet's worst singers.
Here's his second album, "LC" (Factory FACT 44, 1981), re-released by Factory Benelux as a two-CD set, boosted by demos, outtakes and compilation tracks. Vini sings on a few, but mostly it's instrumental. Thank goodness.
Oh, I don't know, Vini's voice has a certain something..... This is my favourite Durutti album, with wonderful percussion - I can't recall confidently but Bruce Mitchell springs to mind.
Yes, I know everybody has probably got this album but I still enjoy it. Mac's best, post Peter Green in my opinion.

The Double 12" by A Certain Ratio, (Factory FAC 42, 1981), a repackaging of the brilliant "Flight" and "Shack Up" 12-inch EPs. Some of Martin Hannett's best-ever work here.

It is indeed Bruce, Nigel. He joined DC after Donald Johnson's (A Certain Ratio) temporary occupation of the drum stool came to an end.
Dynamic jazz album...
A favorite ACT:'Between the Times' and in front of a three days weekend.

I would also add - Back in the Family, Reasons for Waiting and of course Fat Man
Great Album!
On vinyl. A new purchase, first time listen:
A lot of my friends who are Dylan buffs hate it, but I am rather enjoying it thus far.
I really like this album too. The Pedal Steel Guitar is amazing.

One of the all time great rock albums, if you can't hear the angst and emotion in this you need a new system
Fly by Night, Rush, 2015 24 bit remaster, a wonderful album and a great version of it. All these years and it still sounds beautiful. 2 bit flac streamed via Hugo
