Genesis ~ Trespass (1970)

Just in the mood for a blast of old Genesis.

Frank Zappa: Chunga's Revenge

Because…. A Gypsy mutant industrial vacuum cleaner dances about a mysterious night time camp fire. ‘Festoons’. Dozens of imported castanets, clutched by the horrible suction of its heavy duty hose, waving with marginal erotic abandon in the midnight autumn air.

The Lone Bellow - Then Came The Morning

CD    (2015)

Falls into the alt-country/indie folk genres. Finally gave this a second listen.  The opening track is really strong, and the whole album is good.  Need to give this some more listens.

Now:

Eleanor Friedberger - Last Summer

(2011)    CD

Indie rock/Indie pop.  Another album of 'newish' purchases I haven't given much playing time.  That may be the theme for the day.

A quite overwhelming jazz modern big band type of album

Pink Floyd ~ The Division Bell (1994)

I must be in a bit of a proggy' mood this afternoon.

Probably last listened to this in....errr...1979! Thought I'd go crazy and relive my wild youth.

Does is constitute the first 'mash-up' I wonder? A strange mix indeed. Probably another 36 years before I play it again...if I make 87...scary.

Deezer Elite FLAC stream.

I've been playing quite a lot today but this surprised and delighted me

I haven't played the album since my 42.5/110 and Kan days - and it did need a thorough clean - but the difference from how I remembered it is unreal  It must be the Aro

Three piano sonatas dated from the late 1880s, early in the composer's career when he was making a living as a Madrid-based traveling piano virtuoso. They are performed by the Spanish Pianist Albert Guinovart.

These hardly ever heard pieces are highly recommended.

Bought on a whim for a tenner, after I heard a track and a half at the opening of Lordshill Community Centre, on Saturday. Worth checking out on the web imo. I don't know them, and have no commercial interest. The Paper Trains: The Mule. Loads of feelgood harmony.

Jeff Beck ~ Jeff Beck Live + (19th May 2015)

Released last week and just a few tracks into listening, its pretty good. Personally I prefer the tracks without the vocals. As a side note Deezer Elite via Sonos connect in 16/44.1 sounds great and has a nice user interface.

Prompted me to dig out my CD version. Nothing like a bit of classic Genesis for a Bank Holiday.

I enjoyed it, but think a few more plays are needed to really get it.
