Arve Henrikson - "Places of Worship" on vinyl LP. It's a kinda ambient day.

Whether this hidef version sounds better than standard cd I don't know, as I don't have the standard cd, but either way it's a wonderful album.

Neighbours are out, so time for some low-frequency rumbles.  On CD.

Kevin - have you tried this?

Probably a rip of an "atomic" CD in AIFF:-

Rush are one of those groups I'd love to love. I've tried, but I just can't get past the vocals. See also Genesis, except I've bought most of the Gabriel era albums in a previous attempt to force the issue, but still don't really enjoy listening to them.

It's really frustrating as I LIKE Prog and I WANT to like both groups. Frustrating.

Bah!

The album title was almost enough to put me off but this is yet another lovely album by The Sixteen of Renaissance choral and orchestral pieces. Beautifully arranged and sung relaxing, uplifting and designed to take you to some other place for a moment in time.

I know what you man the vocals are not the best part. If you didn't yet do so give Moving Pictures a try the music on that album might win you over. Tip The Camera Eye....

Have always been a bit of a Family fan, though I suspect Roger Chapman's unique vocals are not to everyone's taste.  This album has some excellent songs e.g. Spanish Tide, Larf And Sing and Between Blue And Me.

They call this officially classical crossover. I don't know but can guess what it exactly means. This is interesting while it classical music to create some interesting effects which sometimes even sound like house, minimalistic - an interesting mix and something you might not have heard like this before. Might attract people from both camps...

Not played this since installing the SL cables.  Oooooh! A top-class reproduction anyway and it's now revealing even more. Plucked strings and multi-layering coming over very nicely indeed.

I hear a lot of potential in the first two pieces but it's too much for me to digest this evening, so I will switch to something else. this doesn't disqualify the great artistic quality of this album, that's undeniable ....
