Listening to this on Qobuz streaming. Interesting thing is that the 16/44.1 stuff in my feeling sounds over my Iphone much better then the Apple Lossless music I have on it furthermore. By the way the album is as usual for The Bad Plus very dynamic.
Qobuz Streaming again, interesting piece of music - at least as far as I have listened to it, as well available in 24/192 which is quite unique as well
From the Hyperion website. A searching, screaming account of these sonatas. I have at home this one below which is also interesting, but I guess less screaming/emotional
Apologies, just realized that I didn't copy in the original recording I listened to...
Earlier:
I met painter John Illsley at a gallery in Lymington on Friday evening. Chose to chat about paintings rather than the music of nearly forty years ago. But In the Gallery, with the dealers deciding 'who gets the breaks', resonates this morning.
Now:
Same era.

Streaming wav
Now listening through Qobuz streaming will download it today or tomorrow as I pre-ordered, now much cheaper - so a bit frustrated about that......
just finished:
Taken By Trees "East Of Eden"
now playing:
Strays Don't Sleep "Strays Don't Sleep"
wonderful tunes of Neilson Hubbard and Matthew Ryan
"Strays Don't Sleep is a kind of cinematic blend between Sinatra, Roxy Music and Curtis Mayfield through the lens of ambient urban folk music. All traffic lights and rain, glowing windows from late night high rises and sparse noise. It's a kind of sublime love letter to loneliness, hope and hopelessness. Moods so sharp they're epic. Words so personal they're universal."
Steve Tannen "Big Senorita"
earlier solo release by Steve, he is now the male half of the Weepies
Mandy Moore "Wild Hope"
pop, plain and simple, no sugar
1st run - nice music
This a terrific modern piano trio album,
Booked tickets to see her at the Royal Festival Hall, London in November so I thought I'd give this CD a play.

Is this Melody's latest album, Bert? And what do you make of it?
Mike
Relaxing with this on vinyl and a (bottle of Saltaire) blonde before I return to work tomorrow after an excellent long weekend off.

It's indeed her last one and it came out today - at least for downloading / streaming. I didn't yet have the possibility to completely hear it - but as far as I could listen to it, it was enjoyable. Will give it tomorrow a more intensive listen when I download it.
First play on the new system..... fantastically well recorded album Stunning
Thanks Rob. Sounds very nice. Ordered here too.
John.
If you like that one try their first album Identity also highly recommended!!! Sorry just spotted your post there Peter, yes it might just sound ok
Never heard of Airbag until I saw this, looked it up, ordered from Amazon. Have had first listen via the download as the CD is on its way. REALLY liked it! Cheers Guys. Simon.
Hi Simon, glad you like it! their first album is also really good I highly recommended it.
Hi Rob, On order. Looking forward to giving it a spin.

Thanks, Bert. I'll be interested in your more considered reflections. I've found Melody's albums a bit mixed but am tempted by her latest

one of the better progressive rock albums, typical Transatlantic..."all big ****ing epics" according to the man who can know - Mike Portnoy. I find this one better than the most recent one. Experienced my longest concert experience in a packed concert hall (back against back) for almost four hours - but wouldn't have missed it for anything in the world.
