Tangerine Dream ~ Atem (1973)
As one commenter said, this "marks the group's furthest departure from the world of rock and pop and the closest they ever came to the sound world of the classical avant garde."

An extremely pleasant ninety minutes or so listening to this well recorded and so enjoyable album that was their first live album, recorded at the Palace Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky, at the end of their 2002 Spring tour.

Yes, Steve. An album I very much enjoy too. Superb reproduction quality too
One of three Ray Lamontagne albums I have, the others being Trouble and God Willin' & The Creek Don't Rise. All three are excellent and I really can't choose between them.
1st run, after a couple of numbers - looks like a bit dull given the reputation of the gentlemen, let's listen it out and give it a 2nd run later in the week...

EJ,
Their LP reissues have been a disappointment, too.
They are definitely remastered and that I prefer the original balance. I do suspect that the change of presentation also has something to do with using digital file rather than working from the original analogue tape ( which probably not kept well )
I can't find any engineering credit on remastering on their LP reissue ( they are pressed at Optimal so it's possible that they are using their in house engineer ) but do they say anywhere who's doing the remastering for the high-res reissues?
I am assuming that they would use the same file on both the LP and high res reissues.
One Ray Lamontagne album this evening was not enough....

Documentation on the remasters is scarce. I suspect the highres file is the master from which this originals issue was drawn, but some doctoring may have been added as part of the 'made for itunes' campaign.

EJ,
The word 'remastered' used to mean 'better'.
But now a days it usually means 'worse than before'.
I have the original German pressing of 5th and second pressing of the 4th. Both vinyl have a neutral but natural balance but the 5h has a thinnish strings which I don't hear in the 4th. Both were recoded in the same day and same balance engineer. ( possible that they corrected on a subsequent reissue LP )
Incidentally my French pressing of the 1st is just incredible in terms of dynamics and tonal colours!
I don't have any digital copy of them but generally I find DG's digital transfer and recording from the 90's do not sound very natural.
Enjoying a spot of late-night super-riffs in Reapers from Muse's latest album Drones : awesome inventiveness keeping the concept of concept albums alive
On vinyl.
