The Clouds Are Ghosts ~ Fractures (February 2014)

Thanks for the recommendation Russell

"Very slick light rock described by themselves as electro-acoustic. Catchy without being cheesy or too poppy and very well played."

Best of Bowie on CD, My 14yo Son's favourite album.

Revisiting some old Canterbury scene sounds with this one.

Symphonies #1 and #2 from Haitink's Concertgebouw cycle. Love the first, but the second, or it must be this recording, sounds too much like an unfinished blueprint of Bruckner's mature works.

Jellyfish ~ Spilt Milk (1993)

Totally missed this band twenty plus years ago (I blame several decades of working overseas!). However thanks to DenisA of these parts I am getting happily acquainted.

Their psychedelic rock album In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda, was at the time and arguably even now an iconic album (underground music). Metamorphosis is a pleasant enough album and worth listening to even today, however nothing they produced after IAGDV ever got close to its sound or impact.

Sweet Billy Pilgrim -    Motorcade Amnesiacs

A more uplifting pop/rock album from SBP, with some interesting changes of direction within some of the songs. This is the best pop/rock album I've heard since The Feeling - Twelve Stops and Home (very cheap on amazon).

Denis,

I have only listened to the album once and like it so far. I understand that they nearly gave up in 2012. I'm glad that they decided to carry on.

Not one of my regular plays and from Phil Collins' more commercial era but I still like it. And a bonus is tonight I'm hearing  stuff on this album I've not heard previously thanks to these brilliant SL cables

The truly awesome Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, ahead of tomorrow's gig in Manchester.  24 bits of magic sounding utterly brilliant via Aurdivana and the Hugo

Its a briliant album.  I know it fashionable to knock artists like him and Dire Straits etc buut this was a ground breaking album and hugely succesful, and I love The Roof is Leaking on it.  Think I'll play it later!

Just because I have not listened to it for a long time
