Joe Satriani ~ Time Machine (1993)

This second CD is the live part of the two CD package. The live album includes such tracks as "Surfing with the Alien"and "Lords of Karma" among another dozen others and doesn't replicate any of the studio tracks on the first CD.

Haven't come across that album before but the list of artists looks great.

Just listening to Little Feats 'Electrif Lycanthorpe' live CD, released last year, recorded in 1974. An astounding performance and fantastic SQ. Its sounds great on my Saturn, must be awesome on a triple 5. It blows Waiting for Columbus out of the window.

I finally bought a vinyl copy of Electrif Lycanthrope last year and am really impressed with it. It was rumoured at the time that although a bootleg Lowell George had some hand in it (of course that's the sort of thing the bootleggers would say!) I also have another bootleg from that period - Live at the Santa Monica Civic which is very good. There was also a cd of them live at Ebbetsfield - Late Night Truckstop - available a couple of years ago. But I think EL is the best. I heard part of Waiting for Columbus years ago and was not impressed, but after reading so often that it was one of the best live rock recordings of all time, I bought the expanded version and was disappointed again! One of my big regrets was not buying tickets to see them in London when they were supporting the Doobie Brothers and supposedly then became the headliners on the tour.

Saw the Doobie and Little Feat gig. Great show.

Many thanks to Ewemon and Solwisesteve for playing and flagging this up on the forum. New to me, I am really enjoying it on Spotify and have put them on the shopping list.

On vinyl: Lou Reed - "Coney Island Baby"

Carrying out some maintenance on my NAS at the moment, so alternating between my trial service on Spotify and vinyl. Much as I like 'playing' with Spotify (SQ is probably quite a bit better than I had expected), it's a bit of a relief to play some quality vinyl.

Such harmony and so different (to my ears anyway ) than Simon and Garfunkel or the Everly Brothers.

Nearly missed these as a Neil Young footnote the same way I nearly missed the Band as a Dylan one.
