Streaming | CD FLAC rip

Just in the mood for something from these boys, this will do to start with.

Barrows ~ Red Giant (2014)

Heavy instrumental rock (no vocals) I have been enjoying this for a month or so now.

"A concept album about the life of a star and what happens after it dies, the band depicts the stages of celestial death throughout the album’s five epic tracks...entrancing, circling riffs and rhythms intercut with explosive peaks"

Anyone know where to get a CD of this in the UK? Google didn't!

It looks as though the only way is to download it. I can't see reference to a physical album on their site. If you aren't a streamer you could download it and then burn it to CD. You can have a look here:

Brian Eno - Lux

I'll help with the silence. Spent the afternoon mowing the lawns, so I'm a scarlet-hued sweaty heap, collapsed with a glass of Pimm's, chilling to a glorious bit of ambient electronics.

WAV Rip. Superb rendition of the bass on 'Let it Bleed'...

Pletnev has issued his fair share of fantastic recordings, but this is not one of them. By turns cute and affected, and cold and emotionless, his approach lacks emotional unity and sounds like a well rehearsed dry run, at best.

Why ? Because he's playing in Hall Two of the Sage later in the year, and the tickets just arrived today and it jogged my memory to listen to this as I haven't heard it in a while.

Another listen to this album in its entirety, The stand-out track for me is "Tribal" recorded in the studio, I have being playing that track a great deal. For me it really rocks and presses all my "go" buttons.

Like a lot of Bandcamp bands, these are downloads only - you;d have to download the FLAC and burn a CD

Thanks Stevee, I'll give it a go.

I've got a handful of Madonna albums but this is my favourite by a big margin.  Superb reproduction and the magnificent song Frozen - a test of the bass capability of any system

There Is Only One Roy Orbison. On MGM mono vinyl from 1965. Enjoyable. Of the twelve songs on this album I find the six written by Orbison more upbeat and interesting than the others.

I play this every couple of year for a nostalgia.

This album was given to me around 1974 from a friend how just came back from the US and it was my first exposure to *rock* music from the folk/soft rock genre.

Does anyone know why the US version cover ( left ) differ from the UK pressing? ( right )

Young Gary Graffman's debut album 1956 release.

He was in his mid 20s photographed here.

Interesting choice of program picking Prokofieff's sonata pieces. ( rather than resorting to the standard debut tunes likes of Chopin and Rachmaninoffs )

I can hear a bit of Horowitz influence where he was a student of his a brief period of time.

Apparently it was intentional on the part of Hipgnosis. Art director types....

Both are original images (I believe the American one was a different film stock).

Thanks David.

There must be a *hidden* message somewhere in there for the US cover...
