I would like to audition the ATC SCM 40 V2 speakers to the above album and see what happens..
It's strange, I have always liked Santana and have tried to get into this album on and off for over forty years. Unfortunately it still does not do it for me.
Loved it from the first moment I heard it.
No. it's not. Alsop's Brahms is worse.

Latin jazz - Fun but not for serious jazz listeners.

(2011)
Simon Posford doing his excellent thing, this time under the guise of Younger Brother.
Poor Benji Vaughan! No wonder he decided to go awol
Roger Waters, In The Flesh Live on CD. part 1 and 2. Saw him in his recent The Wall tour and loved it. Look forward to a CD of that.

Same here Stevee, it just doesn't seem very Santanaish to me.

Hallucinogen ~ The Lone Deranger (2001)
Simon Posford again, this time under the guise of Hallucinogen. When I'm in the mood for this style of music it's hard to top Posfords's style.
On CD:-
Disc 2
The truth about the thing is that someone can do it and some do not.
Poor Benji Vaughan! No wonder he decided to go awol
That's fair comment, it wasn't his finest hour.

The above album for me went to the essence of his music, its more jazzy than his other material and zeroes in to the heart of the beat - superb musical achievement

Me neither. And I've really tried to like it. After many years of absence I bought the CD last year thinking perhaps my tastes had matured and I'd now appreciate it. Ten or so minutes into the CD I had that same feeling all over again - boredom - and I hit the stop button. Ah well. I feel I've tried.

On Vinyl.
Rush. Grace Under Pressure. On vinyl from 1984. Probably my favorite Rush LP, this music takes me back to the summer of '84 and lake fishing with friends in southern Ontario. Some time on the water sounds nice to me now with all these 90+ degree days we're having .
On vinyl.
Just starting to buy and listen to instrumental jazz. Any recommendations are welcome.
On vinyl. As the Kandid runs in it is really impressing me.

Erich,
For vinyl current reissues, none better than Music Matters Blue Note 33 rpm series.

TYVM Kuma, from them I have Something Else and Maiden Voyage, I will buy some others there. It's seems a good starting point. Both I have are really good. May be next one is going to be Blue Train. Also have some Stan Getz.
Regards.

On Vinyl.
Sheeran is new to me. Just bought + and x a few days ago.
Excellent listening.
Van Beinum/Concertgebouw Brahms Overtures. 1958 recording.
Not as heroic of an Overture due to string centric scoring. Narative and lyrical but this is not very *tragic*. Tragedy is having to listen through this tune all the way through.
Galliera/Philharmonia Tragic Overture 1956 recording Mono
Well recorded close mic'd mono pressing. It has a warmer balance unusual for Angel Records. Massed strings remain civilised for the most part but not as detailed as it should be. Soundstage is fair. Bass weight is only hinted at.
There is more of a build going on from the intro. Galliera does not waste much time creating a visualy vivid sonic scenery. It has more chunks and has a solid feel and down to earth. Better organised so much easier to follow than most.
Johann Sebastian Bach: Remi Geniet (Klavier)
My daily bread.
I took this one to listen after Sheeran's x, but I'm confused. The outer jacket of the copy I chose says "Made and Printed in Great Britain" and the paper in the center of the LP reads "Made in France" P 1965 ? I don't know if this is the copy I have since I was a teen or not, but this is the first time I noticed this.
Any way, this copy, french or britt, is much better than a new one I bought short time ago.

Florestan, I have a lot of Bach most on CD's and some HD dwnlds and love it. Is this CD or Vinyl?
Regards.
