Haven't played this in ages and it's not one of my 'go-to' albums when I fancy a bit of Floyd but I must say this evening it seems more enjoyable than usual.

If you've not heard them before this is the Co&Ca's album to get you hooked, a mix of 70's prog and 90's metal it has an awesome full in your face sound. Apparently there's a story in there somewhere but who cares.

Did my best to like it, but it's free and not for this evening....

Thin Lizzy, Jailbreak.  I had the pleasure of watching these live on the last tour with Phil singing and they were superb.  Always had a soft spot for a group that had some brilliant guitarists playing for them, including, strangely enough, Midge Ure, at one point.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo, and sounding rather good.

Dipping my toe in Brahms Piano Quartets. 1996 recording with 24 year old Isabelle Faust.

I am digging the exciting No.1 Op.25 so far!

This is indeed a great album...

Seeing this album cover I couldn't help but be reminded of the white Vicoustic Wavewood wall panels in Chris Bell's lovely listening room that he posted in the System Pics.

Third Eye Blind. Eponymous debut album on CD from 1997. My son and I generally share similar musical tastes; however, when he heard me playing this he asked why I was listening to 'whiney boy band music' . Zing!

(III) by Toundra

Glorious hard hitting, captivating, heavy, melodic and beautifully put together hard driving instrumental rock.

As per previous post and because I wanted to hear more from this band.

I really like the Chiaroscuro Quartet, whose recordings are very different from many period instrument renditions. The sound is beautiful too. This is their third recording, released in February this year.

Portishead, Dummy, original vinyl. No reason really.

This arrived yesterday. It's very simple and sparse but lovely nonetheless, a direct descendent of her first album, A Distant Shore. Only 16 minutes long - a mini album.
