On CD. Coz it's my favourite Feats album and I fancied something really greasy and Southern to go with dinner...

Marillion, Six of one, half a dozen of the other, good album featuring both of the bands singers and some great tracks, very enjoyable.  Flac via Audirvana/hugo

Strangely enough I was listening to Handsworth Revolution for the first time in nearly 30 year yesterday. Must give this a listen on Bandcamp, especially as Mr Z is a Villa supporter. Cheers!

(1980)

From Scorpions to Krokus another band I have paid no attention to in far too long. These Swiss rockers could belt it out, this album is pretty good when you are in the mood.

Can't remember who they were supporting but I saw them live many years ago

My favourite Ten Years After album. So many good songs on here from the way Sugar The Road fades in, to 50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain (anyone know of a stranger title for a song?), to the full-length version of Love Like A Man before signing off with As The Sun Still Burns Away.  Lovely stuff.

The sublime Fire & Water by Free.  I've always liked the simplicity of their music and seeing them live many years ago served to show they didn't need recording studio enhancements.

Fleetwood Mac, Rumours.  I've still not forgiven them for cancelling Manchester without even an apology, but this is surely one of the all time great rock albums.  24 bit flac played rather nicely by Audirvana/hugo

As bedtime approaches, and I'm a bit of an insomniac, this first volume of a three-CD set by the great US electronic music pioneer Raymond Scott seems appropriate:

Where as my Ndac and XPS2 DR prefer Fleetwood Macs earlier best of compilation ( you know, the blues stuff).   16 bit sound quality that kills that 24 bit download.

Seems the recording is important after all.

That being said i enjoyed listening to Rumours the other night as well ( just before putting on the earlier recordings).

I have no idea where some of the LPs in the house came from.

This, I had to google to find out who Johnnie Ray was. :/

HIs personal lifestyle was more interesting than his musical style.

Ashkenazy/Previn/LSO: Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.3 & 4. 1974 recording.

Clear bell like sound of piano. This is a fast and lightening quick rendition. But Previn/LSO sounds bland missing the excitement.

US premier of Prokofiev's 4th concerto: Serkin/Ormandy/Philly 1959 recording

Much better organised than Previn set.

I detect a sense of humour from the start. Fanciful and sense of adventure.

This is a weird tune. I sort of understand why this concerto never gets played often. Or even never got played during the composer's life time.

Double 10" vinyl set. First time I have pulled this album out in years. Still great fun.

A compilation of several acid lounge type jazz remixed. In the same vein as Jazzanova.

Here's one of the mix by Nicola Conte. it's got a nice piano riff on it.

Pretty good and enjoyable, I am appreciating it more after a few listens. Not quite up to the standards of "Leftism" but then again, not much of this genre is.

They Want My Soul by Spoon (2014)

This album has been out almost a year but this only is just my first time to listen to it. Not a band I'm familiar with but I have enjoyed it alot and like their (Indie) style.

So far this morning -

Real Estate - Days

(2011) CD

Picked up this after enjoying their most recent album, 'Atlas'.  Not disappointed. A good listen, I find it to be a relaxing album.

Joy Kills Sorrow - Darkness Sure Becomes This City

(2010) CD

First listen.  Already have "Wide Awake" and "This Unknown Science".  Good first impression.

Now :

Annalisa Tornfelt - The Number 8

(2015) CD

Member of Black Prairie.  I have listened to this a few times in recent weeks.  Good album, fitting my low-key day.
