Pleasant EP length (15 minute) prog rock from the guy who brought us the excellent "New World" album last year that extended to a somewhat longer 220 minutes in 24/96...

Is this new - or reiteration of existing material ?

It's just a reiteration of three tracks off "New World" . 1. The Lie, 2. The Lie (radio edit), 3. Nexus (early version demo).

"This is progressive metal at its finest. Mathy, layered, atmospheric and emotional. Intelligent and carefully crafted, this album is everything I wanted it to be. No one does evolving noise like Cloudkicker." - Bandcamp Commenter

Some early progressive rock, this self-titled album was unfortunately the only one they released.

Okay... I should have listened before clicking on the buy now BUT issuing an EP which is essentially just three versions of a track on the original album seemed a bit of a something..... You know what I mean?

listening to Beethoven's 9th on Radio 3 right now. OMG! A bit difficult to work with such good music in the room. Absolutely beautiful!

enjoy

From their 12 CD (The Studio Albums 1969-1987) box set, some say this was the last of their good albums from their earlier years.

Which recording from him you would recommend?

For easy listening you can take this one. For an artistic better album: Motion Picture, for a more free style of that's your cake take Snowguard.

My vote goes to Motion Picture...

Thx

The slow-paced Ray Lamontagne seemed rather suited to the humid weather in my neck of the woods.

Very happy with my mass buy of Karajan stuff from Warner - all high res and for 4.50 a piece, good tone, in a quick run through some good quality spacing also...

full listen of this one now....

Michael Jackson, Off The Wall, its easy to forget how brilliant this guy was in his day but what an influential and enjoyable album this was. 24 bit flac via Audirvana/hugo.

Horowitz's Chopin pieces: 1978 remaster

Horowitz-ism from start to finish. He seems to be on a *concert mode* for this program so not so much of soul searching via the music but for sheer entertainment noone touches his showmanship.

By far my fave is his Andante Spianato & Grande Polonaise Brillante recorded in 1945.

One of a kind Chopin only the Horowitz can pull off so brutal yet elegant.

Kempff's Chopin: Vol.2 1958 recording

His trills are like an ocean ripple in bright sunshine reflecting in it. Unassuming and comforting he's never showy but this natural and insightful playing gets me every time.
