John Fogerty. Centerfield. Original vinyl from 1985. Nice album, several songs have the distinct CCR sound, notably "The Old Man Down The Road" with it's swampy, bluesy gusto.

Green Day. Warning: (2000). On coke-bottle green vinyl from 2014. Surprisingly decent SQ for loudness war poster children Green Day, this pressing by Ted Jensen at Sterling has twice the dynamic range of the CD and my hearing doesn't feel nearly as beat up after a session with the vinyl.

The Beatles. Something New (1964). On Capitol orange label from 1977. I bought a lot of Beatles LPs during the orange label period. This one, for whatever reason, has a particular immediacy and vitality in it's sound above and beyond the others.

Dipping into Mike's aging Baby Boomer Collection. I am familiar with these Linda Ronstadt's albums but never actually listened to them. I was also familiar with her hits but I preferred singtressess likes of Carly Simon, Carole King and Melissa Manchester. The Eagles were her *back up * band when she started but I didn't realise how big she was back then.

Boston. Greatest Hits. On CD from 2008. I'm really only on board with the band for their first three albums, after that it's fluff. As such, I'd have preferred a chronological arrangement of these songs so I could check out after 'Third Stage', and even 'Amanda' barely makes it for me. Maybe only their first two albums? But what a magnificent debut the first was!
