(2014)

Another great prog rock album from Pendragon who seem to be going from strength to strength in their older years!

On my way back home I had some listening time. I choose as a first Mei from Echolyn. While I think the Vocals are a bit prominent at the beginning, a great monument of prog in one long song being the album. People who don't know the guys could start with this one as it's there best effort, in my opinion....

Then I moved to an excellent album of an excellent progressive band with a steady high quality output. The only minus is that I don't like the voice of the singer so much, so I wouldn't listen to a stretch of albums because of that..

Then I moved to Radiohead I am still trying to get my head around the earlier work. I got acquainted to them through in Rainbows which is in my ears a great album like the album after it. The earlier albums do have an appeal but for me are a bit less accessible. While this album has some great songs...

Then moved to this one, a bit more difficult to connect to for me. I think I still will need more times to listen to it...

Then moved to this haunting album. Not all good but nice when you are in a car....

Oh I realized you don't see what it is if you don't know it. It's Annoying Domino High Definition from Roverside...

Now being at home switched on the system and started with some Chopin to warm up the system. Interesting how a cold system can sound a bit harsh and how it starts to get fine again more and more the longer it is playing. We are blessed with our great Naim systems...

Just a regular CD but sounding just fine.

Symphony #1 from the new cycle from the BBC Philharmonic. Storgards got a lucky break, being able to record the complete Sibelius and Nielsen symphonies for Chandos. An exciting, vital performance, very well recorded.

Bit of relaxing Mary Black for the evening. This is one of her albums where the music just seems to wash over me, especially the delightful Golden Mile.

First spin of the HDCD remastered disk.  Still sounds fresh and vibrant.

This is probably my favourite Tom Waits album - everyone should hear his rendition of Somewhere. Wonderful.

First spin of  the disk.  It is definitely interesting Neil.  Sort of in the Rust Never Sleeps Mode, but not quite. Then it sort goes towards Old Ways with a country lilt.  Oh well, it is Neil.
