Nerina Pallot, Fires. This really is a superb album, full of excellent songs and it sounds superb. Highly recommended. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Inspired by Steve and after playing Crosby I had to play this:

Some excellent Crosby songs and vocals with that classic jangly guitar from McGuinn. Crosby excells on Everbody's Been Burned.
When I first heard the Byrds the die was cast and I was hooked. My mates thought I had flipped when I played Mind Gardens they could not take it but I Ioved it!
Also it happens to be the first LP I ever bought and I still have the knackered early Stero pressing i bought which hangs in pride of place on my study wall, although I am playing a MONO version i purchased a few years ago.
Ah, now playing side two and My Back Pages which also cemeted my fixation with Dylan.
Once saw McGuinn with Dylan and also Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers it was sensational and I will never forget it!

The Rolling Stones. Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967). On hybrid SACD from 2002. Why? I really can't provide any rational justification other than it's The Stones. Seemed like a good idea until I hit 'play'.

(2004)
Some easy and pleasant listening to start the day with, on what is yet another wet morning.

Best Of The Allman Brothers Band. On 20th Century Masters CD from 2000. A quick ABB fix but also a reminder that I should probably eat a peach soon. After all, peaches are in season.

Deluxe version, bonus disc. A great reminder of Knebworth in 79

Van Halen II (1979). On HDCD from 2000. It's always interesting for me to listen to VH and consider they shared the same producer, Ted Templeman, with the likes of The Doobie Brothers, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Carly Simon, Little Feat, Nicolette Larson, and even Bette Midler, among others. A credit to Templeman's diversity.

Santana first album. Because I know Abraxas too well and wanted a change. But not too much of a change.
