Yes, she does smile, Joe. Try her debut, my favourite, and still her best album, DRY.

Rush, Permanent Waves, on a rare day off work so some purest Rush to start the day and to help me play around with this room correction malarky.  24 bit flac via Audirvana/Hugo

CD rip AIFF, pleasant enough, maybe not the best album I've ever bought, a couple of good tracks. She has never really grabbed me, but worth a punt for 1p + £1.26 P&P.

Julia Fordham - Swept.

Continuing in a similar fashion, even my download pattern of this morning is in the same direction....

Moved on to the next one, another enjoyable album..

(1968)

Caravan's debut self-titled album. This one remastered in 2002 and sounding none too bad for it, the tracks are presented in their original mono and the later stereo, all on the one disc. A very pleasant trip down a memory lane in Canterbury.

I re-discovered and re-purchased this one just the other day Dozey, it's certainly in my personal top three of theirs i.e. Santana, Abraxas then III.

Funny how in this period everybody was playing with everybody, another great album out of this period....

Ewe, when is this expected to be out? I enjoyed Cover Girl.

Just had a quick listen to this, this is how you create garbage...great numbers are being crushed in crazy remixes. definitely not advised to buy...

Bad Company, Bad Company 24 bit flac via Audirvana/Hugo.  Not so sure that this is any better than my original 16 bit version to be honest.

Continued with older jazz before..

Now Sam artist but a live concert - modern music...

Another lovely album from Caravan with many great tracks on it, just the job for a summer afternoon's listening.

Hearing her sing gives me shivers on my back, and that's not just because I have a cold...

This was another good album from the Norwegians, symphonic prog, haunting vocals and melodies telling a story of isolation.

1st run, interesting concept songs of Porcupine Tree in big band format, but not immediately recognizable, so far I like it...

Last older jazz one of today, before watching a movie. The style is different from the other stuff I have heard. More modern / different I would say as compared to Hank Mobley and some others while not less enjoyable....

I'll have to give this a listen Steve. I loved 'Night' which I think you recommended then as well.

The Circle and The Blue Door is a heady mix of rock, folk, prog, psychedelic and more. It's well worth a listen and I was in the mood to do just that this evening.

Yes well worth a listen as are most of their albums Russell. You can also maybe prioritise their March of Ghosts, Demons and Tick Tock to have a listen to. I feel that they are much underrated or maybe too much of an acquired taste I'm not sure.

I've been meaning to get this for a while, and it finally arrived yesterday. Jolly good it is too.
