The deluxe version of Presence has some alternative mixes that give the rather toppy originals a bit of bottom end grunt.

Completely agree Keith, in terms of content, Coda is the best of these reissues. There's some really good unheard stuff.

On Presence, I love that JPJ/Page instrumental, "Pod" - great piano on that.

I heard the alternative version of 'When the Levee Breaks', called, I think, 'if It Keeps On Raining' on the radio yesterday and thought that it might be worth buying just for that. Strange though how they can rename it when it was a Memphis Minnie track in the first instance.

I have loved putting this on and playing it ever since the day it was released.

Sublime musically and in terms of fidelity.

And now this, a great new album from Gary Peacock's trio, with Marc Copland and Joey Baron.

Jimi Hendrix. Are You Experienced (1967). The MCA remastered CD from 1997. Combines all tracks from the European and US releases and adds "Highway Chile" for a total of 17 songs. Extensive liner notes include a biography of the band members, numerous photos, various hand written lyrics, printed lyrics, credits to technical personnel, and a historical perspective of the album by Dave Marsh. A very well presented package.

Van Halen. Women And Children First (1980). Remastered HDCD from 2000. Heavy metal? Hard rock? Or just commercial pop of the era? Which ever, I like my VH with Roth as the front man and this album gets the blood flowing late on a Saturday night.

Kansas. Super Hits. On CD from 2007. The only Kansas I have on CD, this really can't do justice to its vinyl counterparts for dynamic range. Even the Rock Band version of 'Carry On Wayward Son' played via Xbox through my TV's speakers sounds better.

I played a little Gazpacho yesterday evening and wanted to hear some more. They can take a few listenings to get into but it's well worth it. I think that most of their albums are available on Deezer Elite for anyone who wants to try.

+1 I have been listening to Night and Demon the last couple of days.  I just can't get wizard of Altai mountains out of my head.

They are playin in London in November with another great band (iamthemorning) for anyone who is interested.

Described as the EP that "fills in the missing pieces" from their "English Electric I & II"  masterpiece by the English prog rockers. This is an album that very much stands up in its own right and at 45 minutes in length it is a generous sized EP!

What you get when you cross punk with english folk, Frank Turner's latest has some great songs.. and a good variation in the album. One of the better more acidic singer song writers.

Streaming FLAC.

Has a kind of South American / Cuban feel to the jazz played...
