Lizz Wright Live - official recording.
Unreleased.
Superb gig.

I'd forgotten what a good album this is - I had it on tape back in the 80's and recently purchased it again on CD.

Described at the time as the third in his "life trilogy" and was released some twenty four years after his solo debut "Nightfly". Another wonderful album from the Dan man.

Gees me up before a shift.

ah.. shift. I read that wrong on the first glance ![]()
My first ever hi res download.
Played over the mac mini/DAC-V1/NAP140/DB1i system, this is the most effortlessly beautiful, classical music album that I have ever had the pleasure of working to.
An all time favourite.

Best regards, FT
A quick blast of this before I take the kids to hit some balls at the driving range

I played this just the other day and am having another very enjoyable listen again today; modern prog from Gazpacho.
Starting to clear out some vinyl, looking at doubles, seeing which versions are (best?) :-

Rhapsodies - Rick Wakeman, a selection of tunes with some covers. OK but not up SofHVII and allied.
Begs question as to how I got 2 copies. Should be a thing of the past now as I have my collection on CLZ app on iPhone.
Starting of the day with some great piano playing. I am also looking forward to his new record...

Same her. And for the Tickets for munich.
I already have tickets but it's long ahead in June in Munich, so waiting will be long....
For the concertos in the Philharmonie?

Yes it's part of a series pianissimo - it's the last concert of the series.

Excellent album, think I'll play it when my David Ellias has finished. Thanks!

This is the album that followed on two years later from what was their very best at the time "Night". I was really pleasantly surprised at how good "tick tock" was considering what a difficult act they had to follow. Once again excellent prog (and more) from this Norwegian band.
"The music of Tick Tock is there to allow the vocal line its phenomenal emotional expression. Sometimes it almost feels like the moments of eerie northern ambience so skillfully reinforced by violins, flute, accordion, mandolin and mandola are like gusts of wind carrying the voice to its next great momentum. And then the rock music comes and lets the voice to rest."
[This] "their 6th album, is a concept album based on the book "Wind, Sand, and Stars" which is an account of the trials experienced by author Antoine de Saint-Exupery, who in 1935 attempted a flight from Paris to Saigon, only to crash in the desert."
"The opening track, Desert flight is a lively opener that is fairly reminiscent of Muse. Skilfully gloomy and at times turning radiant, the rest of the album deals with the long walk through the desert. The second track, "The Walk" is a 13 minute atmospheric masterpiece complete with a Middle Eastern violin section. The title track, "Tick Tock" at 22 minutes seems a little over indulgent, but is nonetheless is hugely listenable and holds plenty of interest from start to finish, but the 3rd part is possibly the best. The final track "Winter Is Never" at a modest 5 minutes long is a pleasant closer to the biggest surprise of 2009." - A few Amazonian's comments

Forget the music, the lyrics and the great voice, it's the wild fuzzy looks I'm a loving...!!! ![]()

Fire EP by Trojan Horse
This was probably a bit of a holding exercise by the band while they completed their second full album. It includes a few remixes from their first album and very notable cover of Neil Young's Ohio, very brave and very well executed.
