Steve Hacket, Robert Reed and Co - Spectral Mornings 2015

Spectral Mornings 2015. Getting used to listening to this with lyrics. It's becoming quite addictive.

Big Big Train - English Electric

Big Big Train - English Electric inspired by the above.

During the weekend I was traveling a lot in the car, and I listened a couple of cd's from this collection. All of very high quality, no matter the classical violin concertos or the chamber music...., absolutely recommended ....

Sorry cannot help on the SQ of the reissue, this is a recently purchased 1969 first UK pressing Vertigo Swirl label. However I suspect it will sound better than the reissue..

Very nice! and pricey?

Steve Wonder's most glorious album, in my view.  Who needs a reason to listen to this?  Old, yes, but somehow ageless.

Not their best but not a bad album overall, as most of their albums, their is always a base quality...

Definitely their best in my opinion. A great progressive concept album, about a girl being murdered. The live version live scenes of New York is also a great album...

More Frapp on vinyl. Frapp the first, in fact:

Great album, rough and raw but a master piece. I am not sure if I like this one or Be more...

Their best and for me most accessible album, others might choose other albums, for me this one is brilliant, while the other ones also have their charms but they are less easy to listen to...

Chopin's music lends itself to such a wide range of interpretations, it is impossible to refer to one recording as definitive. Nevertheless, this is definitive.

First serious listen to this one, will require a couple of more turns to get into my like list...

Bert, please define "accessible" as I find their early albums such as Pablo Honey and The Bends their, let us say, less complex musical offerings. On the other hand, Kid A, The King of Limbs, In Rainbows are much more lapidated  albums. Just wondering....

Mozart: Great Mass in C Minor. Raymond Leppard/New Philharmonia 1973 recording.

Here's another of Mozart's incomplete Mass.

The tune just keeps going higher and higher like unfolding the whole universe. Soprano shows a great technical command and maintaining a proper proportion in the transition from high to low is pretty good albeit not as intimate as it should be. This mass on the whole is worthy of the name ‘Grand Mass’. Truly large in scope and it has the unearthly bigger than life feel to it.

It does not have the urgency of Requiem, however.

Agree. IR is a modern classic. But I also agree with Tony2011 that Pablo Honey and The Bends are pretty straightforward (but none-the-worse for it). HTTT, Kid A and Amnesiac are more challenging for sure.
