This is just great: I would never have found it were it not for a recommendation here.

I've ordered this too. I don't have any of their albums, but first heard them on Spotify the other day, and very good they were.

Their last studio album wasn't bad either.

Wat, have a listen to their first album, Castaways and Cutouts, still their best album imho.

The reason I bought my first Tartan shirt. Great guy and very knowledgeable.

One of my four Bill Evans XRCD discs. Beautiful job of re-mastering, a treat to the ear.

The War on Drugs - Lost In The Dream

(2014) CD

Evans Moon Beams. It's been a while since I've spun this.

And the play list for the rest of this evening.

After Evans, initiated into Weinberg's music.

Cate Le Bon - Mug Museum

(2013) CD

Posted on: 18 January 2015 by Florestan

Piano Trios:  Trio Atanassov

Bedrich Smetana:  Piano Trio in G minor Op. 15

Antonín Dvorák:     Piano Trio No. 3 in F minor Op. 65

Music that I needed today and couldn't live without.  I listened to the whole thing twice but the Dvorak a total of 5 times.  I am so glad that I discovered so much meaningful music (century's worth actually) long before the fundamentalist manifestos came out which brands certain music as repulsive and distasteful.  To come up with such tosh is simply astounding in this day and age.

Wow.

This is pretty intense. Has anyone tried Weinberg's work?

It's going to take me repeated listen to get a handle on it but this is a bit like lost in a dark forest in a dream.

A Bit less exciting as expected, but still a very good album..

No, I listened to it - but it was too far away for me to appreciate it. For this type of music I need more mainstream type of stuff otherwise I disconnect.

Not sure of the benefit of the "super audiophile quality" compared to the standard CD for this 1956 recording though?
