FYI - did you know that the "Pablo" label was named so for Picasso?  He was a friend of Granz.

I have a few Pablo recordings and they all sound good.

I did not know about Picasso. Thanks for the info.

Frank Sinatra: Nearness of you 1967 release.

Another compilation record of his swinging and mellow standards.

Nelson Riddle & Billy May make his usual Sinatra sound. He's still on top of the game.

The Beatles. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967). On the Capitol CD from 1987. I don't think I've played this particular disc since the stereo remasters were released in 2009.

During my workout. I was very excited when this came out, I called it the album Pink Floyd should have brought out. My excitement has reduced by now, it's still a good album, but it will not end up on my top five of the year (which I assumed initially).

My first listen to this one by the RNO and Mikhail Pletnev and the impressions of it are very good, its one that I will come back to.

The Fireman. Electric Arguments. On CD from 2008. Brilliant album! Among his solo works, this might be the "anonymous" McCartney at his least inhibited and most creative best.

The mid 70's was a golden era for good recordings on some labels. This sounds 'just right'; great dynamics, timbres and clarity through NDX Hugo.

My first listen to this one recommended to me by Gary Shaw (late of this forum). Just a little way into it and it's a stunning piece of psyambient, electronica with occasional vocals and has gone straight into my shopping trolley.

This one is an old classic and I am in the mood to listen to it again.
