Buddy Holly. The Definitive Collection. On CD from 2006. Whether all analog, digital, or digital on vinyl, I seem to be a sucker for Holly compilations. This one has 26 tracks lasting just over 57 minutes. A fast-paced listen and testimony to the short but sweet notion of a song back in his day.
Breakfast piano
Joe Jackson. Look Sharp! (1979). On CD from 1986. One of my earliest CD buys and certainly a legitimate contender in the argument for best debut album.
A Chris Rea morning, starting with this :-
Then my original (better than the remix)...

A bit of a carry over from last night's listening, this one was ready to go already queued up in the playlist.
Good choices Tony very underrated musician IMO.
Hi res. Tull at their best. Great EP.

Unfortunately IMO it was all pretty much musically downhill for him after this one.
Great album, also generally recognized...

Pan by White Mantra
My first outing with this one, all kinds of rock and psychedelia and so far its good.
"On this new album, White Manna paint landscapes with their sound. Pan ebbs and flows like the Pacific tides, leaning heavily on Stooges-esque Raw Power, then expanding the atmosphere in the manner of Hawkwind’s Silver Machine." - Bandcamp Comment

Once again my first listen to this one and once again its very enjoyable and as described, a Vangelisesque first "side" and Tangerine Dream like second "side" from the two artists on this split album.
Listened to this in the car today. Progressive instrumental rock. Quite varied, but not every bodies taste..

Just finished listening to these two albums and thoroughly enjoyed them both. The later Spirit Animal is slightly more rock/krautrock orientated but both are upbeat ambient electronica with enough going on throughout to keep you interested and going places with their musical themes.
On vinyl from 1989:
All about Eve - "Scarlet and Other Stories"
Vinyl just purchased on a whim from a record shop, and an album and act that I would normally not even consider. Now playing the album for the first time and really enjoying it. Beautiful vocals from Julianne Regan and a really beautiful album all round.
How did I miss them when they were at their peak? I will certainly look out the rest of their albums.
Little Feat "Waiting for Columbus" Vinyl Rip Awesome !!!
4 disc set.

I haven't listened to this in a little while so I thought I would give it a go. It's one for those that preferred their 'Floyd more Gilmour than Waters.

Nice album and good music Hmack, I have a feeling that you will enjoy discovering their back catalogue.

Hi Hmack. Yes this is a great album, my favourite AAE album. I've liked them ever since I saw them at the Cropredy festival many, many years ago. Of their studio albums "Ultraviolet" has a completely different style to it. They might as well have been a completely different band (due to the record company insisting that they needed a new style for their 3rd album apparently) and for me at least it's not as good as the others.

A very interesting new guy. It seems like the new kids on the block all have an interest for Bach...
