Nice rounded sound, don't know if it's the 24 bit 192 or just base quality...

Brian Eno - Another Green World

Spooky Tooth - Spooky Two

Just scanning through, magnificent sound. The Plays Count Basie is less spectacular - but also recorded 5 years earlier - will also buy the ones I already had in red book now in 24/192, it's worth the investment for the ones I just bought.....

Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz [Expanded Edition) Ozzy Osbourne

Ozzy Osbourne - Blizzard of Ozz (Expanded Edition) Ozzy Osbourne 24/96 FLAC. SOunding exceptional in hidef. The bonus version of Goodbye to Romance is brilliant. Full of feeling and shows off the skill of my all time favourite guitarist, RIP Randy.

Followed by ...

Black Sabbath - Paranoid [Remastered)

Black Sabbath - Paranoid (Remastered) 24/44.1 FLAC. The Hires brings the roughness of the sound through better somehow. Brilliant album all the better for the extra bits.

And now ...

Marillion - £15.20 SEE THE ALBUM 5 Album Set [Remastered) [Script for a Jester's Tear/Fugazi/Real to Reel/Misplaced Childhood/Clutching at Straws)

Marillion -  5 Album Set (Remastered) (Script for a Jester's Tear/Fugazi/Real to Reel/Misplaced Childhood/Clutching at Straws) FLAC. Script for a Jester's Tear at the moment. An old favourite.

Lonnie Liston Smith : Reflections of a Golden Dream 1976 release

Laid back down tempo grooves from the 70s.

On vinyl. Indie rock royalty from a few years back.

Lonnie Liston Smith: Exotic Mysteries 1978 release.

This has got to be one of my fave Liston Smith album. It's not the best sounding by any stretch but I pull this groovy album out every now and then to  just enjoy or sometimes to check a system. ( can I follow the bass line? )

Marcus Miller's bass in 'Space Princess' is just addictive.

Lonnie Liston Smith: Loveland 1978 release

Here's groovy  'Springtime Magic'.

Having read all the good reviews about this Linn production and release I simply have to give it a go.

Bruce Springsteen. Born To Run (1975). On the Columbia "MasterSound" gold CD edition from 1994. Despite the gold electroplating and "Super Bit Mapping", I still prefer to hear this on the original vinyl. The wall-of-sound is there in either case, but musically this album is an exuberant journey.

dav301,

Your post caused me to take a look at the Asia discography. I have 'Asia' and 'Alpha' on vinyl, but lost interest beyond those first two albums. I see Asia has had rather consistent output over the years, albeit with a laundry list of performers beyond the original line-up. So I'm wondering what you think of their more recent albums?

Amazing thought that people are still enjoying your music 265 years after you have died. Superior music. I am not sure of people in 265 years still will listen to U2, Coldplay, .....

My opinion is that the Asia albums still have a certain quality but are not closing in to the first album. The only exception being Arena. As it's easy accessible, one can always listen every now and then a late Asia album...

You will enjoy it, the piano concertos are also a delight.

After her beautifully played Chopin Preludes earlier I had to listen to the Concertos 1 & 2 which are a delight.

My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts by Brian Eno and David Byrne

Even after all these years this is still one of my favourite works by Eno. Fantastic groundbreaking ideas, rhythms, beats vocals and other sounds swirling about on this one.

Ditto... I thought is was fantastic when I first heard it but it seemed to quickly wane. I wonder if one of the reasons is it's just too damn long!

Such a great album at the time and still sounding very good today especially as I have not had it playing for years.

One of my favourite "finds' on Bandcamp in the past year or so. Their music is hard to describe or pigeon hole as tracks within their albums can vary so much in style.

This clip offers a taste of one of their styles and features some interesting body popping.

Joerand,

The two later albums I would recommend are Phoenix and Omega, which also feature the original line up.
