Ditto... I thought is was fantastic when I first heard it but it seemed to quickly wane. I wonder if one of the reasons is it's just too damn long!

I think it's initially because of a certain similarity with Pink Floyd type of sound, makes it easy to accept.....after that initial familiarity you get to the aspect of really listening to the music and evaluate it for it's real value...

Classic Rock Magazine "The Real 100 Greatest Rock Songs"

from the september 2008 issue.

good stuff you kind of forget about and a good exercise to dig

up all the records to play them.

(got stuck at Beck's "Blow by Blow" can't stop side 2, never.

so far; beck, cream, blues breaker, metallica, sabbath, stewart, ac/dc, scorpions,

young, marillion etc.. missing a few on vinyl but got a bunch too.

It's odd tot see Hanoi Rocks on the list of Classic Rock Magazine but this deserves a play once a decade.

Hah! Thanks for that note, ewe. Maybe the Rock 'n' Roll gods were beckoning me to give it a listen (I actually gave it two successive listens). Great album!

Bruce Springsteen. Wrecking Ball. On CD from 2012. Tends more to the Heartland sound than the Jersey Shore sound, yet still very Springsteen-esque. The gospel infusion works here, though not sure I need the rap-dabbling of "Rocky Ground".

Personally I am more of a Darkness on the Edge fan.

I know what you mean Simon, I find that I really have to be in the mood to listen to this particular album (good as it is), I must play it again sometime when the mood takes me...
