I listened to the first CD just the other day and wanted to hear more of them today, so on with part two of this excellent album

It is a good album from a good band. Since you like this one I'm sure you will enjoy others from them: Night, Missa Atropos, March of Ghosts, Demon. Are all well worth exploring.

Thanks for the tips. I also have these albums. But as I have a big collection you don't listen to all albums on a regular base. When you do you get often a rediscovery of something great.

Melody Gardot's delightful third album, I am only sorry that I am so late to the Gardot party!

... don't miss her latest release 'Currency of Man'. Qobuz has it in hi-res if you're into that. The ripped CD version is sounding incredibly good here though.

Pick up the deluxe edition (The Artist's Cut)

With apologies to all those who already know Melody Gardot's history (obviously I didn't until recently) here is a potted version of her early challenges and hasn't she overcome those difficulties so well, Bravo!

"Melody Gardot (born February 2nd, 1985) is an jazz artist from New Jersey USA, currently residing in Philadelphia.

In 2003 she was run over by a car while riding her bicycle, leaving her disabled in hospital for over year. She had to re-learn things like to speak and walk. She also got over-sensitive to sound and light resulting in her all-day use of dark sunglasses. To this day she still uses a cane to walk.
Her musical career began with piano lessons at the age of nine and music became her main therapy during her recovery to a normal life. Since her brain suffered neural-pathway damages she trained up her voice by humming and eventually sing into a tape recorder. She also learned to play the guitar while being hospitalised.

She began writing songs and made them available on iTunes and later began performing them around Philadelphia venues. Radio station WXPN, who helped launch Norah Jones career, took notice of Gardot. They encourage her to make a demo which soon sparked the interest at Universal Records. She released her first album "Worrisome Heart" in 2006 (later re-released on Verve Records in 2008)." - Discogs

I saw her at the North Sea Jazz festival in July this year. But if possible I will definitely try to see her more.

Baby I am fool with just acoustic guitar is thrilling...

Had heard some snippets before. I like what I hear in my first run through. Will be interesting when the third one will come out with I guess Queryas in a leading role....

Some gentle and melodic Straits from this early album.   Very nice.

Magnificent playing, piano is tied to the violin and the other way around. Transparent and crisp.

Includes Emmanuelle Bertrand's recording of Britten's 3rd suite - which under her bow has to be heard to be believed.
