On vinyl fro 1977:

ELP - Works

I always enjoy 3 sides of this double album, but side 1 (Keith Emerson's Piano Concerto No 1) always leaves me cold. I tried playing it again today, but lasted only 5 minutes before turning the LP to side 2.

As always, I enjoyed the rest of the album> Great vocals on "Lend your love to me tonight" on side 2,  and I love their version of Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" on side 4.

In that case Dave, do try The Lone Deranger by Hallucinogen and give some of his other albums a go under the name of Schpongle another of his bands/projects, most of them are pretty good when in the right mood for this style. You can find some of those albums on the river and read some reviews to get an idea of what you might like. There are a number available to listen to on Deezer Elite so I assume Spotify and other streaming services will have them too.

Cheers, Steve

CD quality download from Qobuz on my NAS:

Steve Miller Band - "Circle of Love"

followed by another CD quality download from Qobuz:

Steve Miller Band - "Let your hair down"

I think I had 5 or 6 Steve Miller Band albums in various formats, but I had never heard these 2 albums. Both are excellent, and excellent SQ despite not being hi-res. I'll be buying a lot more from Steve Miller's back catalogue, I think.

Great stuff from a much underrated artist.

Generic black and white, it contains two "live" and seven "original" tracks with no credits given other than the performers.

That's an interesting buy Joe, I must admit that I have never seen that one before.

Same never seen that before.
