Starting the evening listening with my only Springsteen record.
Kuma,
If you're ever inclined to get a second, I'd recommend the follow-up release "Darkness On The Edge Of Town". Springsteen's best, most impassioned album, it doesn't use the wall-of-sound production of BTR and still has glockenspiel .
Yes. Owner Of A Lonely Heart. MS087 CD from 2008. I wonder if anyone else here has this UK origin CD. I bought it sealed in a s/h shop for $3, and it seems an oddity to me, rather like a bootleg. Generic black and white, it contains two "live" and seven "original" tracks with no credits given other than the performers.
That's an interesting buy Joe, I must admit that I have never seen that one before.
Same never seen that before.
Thanks guys. Reason I ask is because it played fine when I first got it. Now it has replay issues. The disc is showing signs of discoloration from the outer edge in. First I've ever encountered a problem in almost 30 years of CD buying. Not a bad listen while it lasted, but a bootleg I suspect.

Yep would agree here. My favourite Boss disc
Grateful Dead. Shakedown Street (1978). Original CD from 1984. Hate to admit it, but this is my first ever listen to a Dead album; its my wife's CD. The sound is familiar, and I recognize several tracks. An enjoyable listen with outstanding SQ. Reminiscent of 'The Band' to me.
Now with voice this morning ..
diVINYLS. Eponymous fourth album. Original CD from 1990. Long time since I played this. Brilliant album top to bottom and Chrissy Amphlett's voice oozes sensuality on every track.

Its rather early in the day for this style of music but nonetheless very good to listen to if you enjoy the sound of Ozric Tentacles and the like, hardly surprising given that the duo were both former members of the Ozric's.
Playing this superb album again :-
Anthology 3 on vinyl. Because I had a hankering to listen to some WA, LIB and AR outtakes!
Hi-res (24 bit, 96KHz) download from Qobuz:
Quicksilver Messenger Service - "Happy Trails"
Another favourite album from my student days. Nowadays, I almost always play this album in hi-res download form on my Klimax streamer rather than on my record deck.
An album that brings back good memories. Not sure how much the 'younger' generation would like it, but well worth a listen or two for those who want to try.

and if you are inclined to listen to a 3rd, or even an alternative 2nd, can I put a word in for my favourite Springsteen album - "Nebraska"
Far and away my favourite Springsteen album, with many of my favourite tracks, and a lot less cluttered and over produced than many of his albums.
- and sounding very good in the hi-res download available from Qobuz.

This is always a very good album to listen to, in the ambient, acoustic, indie mould with well placed vocals.
More Manc magic from New Order, this time Power Corruption & Lies from 1983. UK first press vinyl. Recorded at the Floyd's Britannia Row studios, it's another super-sounding platter.
Been living with this for a few weeks now and since it has been finally released I can mention my thoughts about it. Superb album a worthwhile purchase for you you Lizz Wright fans.
Fancied some eclectic pop, so here is Free The Bees by The Bees on first press UK double vinyl.
HI-res (24bit, 96KHz) from Qobuz:
Lou Reed - "Coney Island Baby"
followed by another Hi-res Qobuz download:
Lou Reed - "New York"
I have had these albums on vinyl from when they were first released, but trying out my new hi-res downloads from Qobuz for a change. Pretty good sound quality & "New York" in particular is one of my favourite Lou Reed albums.
Followed by my favourite Velvet Underground album. Again, a hi-res download from Qobuz:
UK first pressing. Bought this as a teenager on the day it came out (13th November 1981) from the Virgin Megastore at the Tottenham Court Road end of Oxford Street. Gets better with age (it got poor reviews at the time and the band don't think much of it apparently).
Because I'm in an early 80s mood and this Japanese 12" EP is so cool, it has a 6.5-inch label.
Parker at his best on Dial imho.
