Interesting young trio, gives you a bit of the Mehldau type of feel....
I listened to an interview with Igor Levit on Radio 3 recently, during which they played some of this album. Wonderful.

Richter/Oistrakh: Brahms Violin Sonata No.3
Change of weather prompted me to listen to burnished coloured Brahms and dark Schubert.
A driven, full-on Dvorak - Isserlis has magical moments, but the cumulative impact of this recording does not match, say, Rostropovitch / Giulini (EMI) or Wispelwey / Renes (Channel Classics).

Did some listening into new music this morning. This one is indeed a very goid one, it will land on my buying list..
A bit untypical for him, a traditional piano trio album, decent...however mot exiting enough to land on my buying list...
Would not switch it off when I would hear it again it's quite nice, but just not my type of music.....
For breakfast, a very interesting album, great artist...
This got me into this band - great album...

Richter/Oistrakh: Brahms Violin Sonata No.3
Change of weather prompted me to listen to burnished coloured Brahms and dark, yet absolutely beautiful music full of life and passion that is really even better if you listen to a cello / piano version Schubert. of Franck (although the violin rendition is probably more standard and popular 
).

How are Oistrakh and Richter in this recording?

Hi Nigelb, I would guess so, but I use CD. Would be cool to hear in Hi Res. The CD is really very good though. Simon.
