"Their album, "Dark Eyes", is also one of the most original sounding releases from the Canadian indie music scene during 2012. They mix indie, folk, pop and electronica into this wonderful blend of melodies & vocal harmonies". ~ A Bandcamper

Top-notch triple vinyl collection of jazz-funk from the Blue Note vaults

Fauré's piano quintets aren't his most accessible music, with dense melodies and thematic subjects that tend to fade in and out of the foreground - and the Schubert Ensemble doesn't make it easier by taking a rather impressionistic approach. My personal favorite recording of these works, but probably not for everyone. *)

*) everyone who otherwise enjoy Fauré of course.

This is straight jazz, nothing fancy, but really swinging. Harry Allen is just great.

Probably finishing of the evening's listening with this one, Korn back to their heavy (industrial) dual guitar attack best and this time with added electronica.

Big Heifetz fan when I was young. Now I find much is a little too driven.  But the bow control and sound is always marvellous.

Going back to the Brahms concerto, I've always found that Heifetz ability to shape a phrase, no matter how difficult a passage, totally suited the Brahms concerto.
