Streaming ripped CD. Criminally underrated band.

Looks like Richard Hawley, so probably his new album.

Yet another case of words being worth so much more than a picture.

Tommy Flanagan: Sea Changes

The track above was composed by Flanagan but I much prefer the way it was performed on a solo piano by his friend pianist (also from Detroit) Roland Hanna:

Matt, sorry for being 25 minutes late.

Rush, Roll the Bones, their fourteenth album released in 1991 and a very enjoyable one it is too.  Only the Beatles, the Stones and Aerosmith have more consecutive platinum albums than Rush. 24 bit flac via audirvana/hugo

Interested if anyone is familiar with this recording - I am actually listening to the quintets at present.

Picked this up for a whole $1.50 at the used music & books store I frequent.

BigH47,

Thanks for your comments. Aside from posting a picture, I'm interested in what others think of it, though I realize it can take repeated listens to form an opinion. I tend to give aging rockers a pass on vocals, as that's really beyond their control. To me it's more important to get involved in the musicality they still have to offer. The bits I've heard indicate that Gilmour hasn't lost any virtuosity on the guitar, but I wonder about the overall ebb and flow of the album.

Midnight Oil. Diesel And Dust. On CD from 1988. Heavy bass and drum driven music, and Peter Garrett's vocal style is unwavering, but it's a decent album and I appreciate that the band has a political message to deliver.

Re. Rattle That Lock.

Like Bigh47 nothing stayed with me - after not very long I picked up my iPad and it became background music. Only played it once so far, but will try again.

disapponted at the quality of the vinyl though. Over the 4 years I was in Brasil I bought approaching 200 bits of new vinyl. It was a risk as I knew it would be quite a while before I could play them, and obviously it is not easy to return a faulty album after so long, but this risk was weighed against the possibility of missing out on some good stuff, and has so far paid off with only one bit of vinyl, with a dangerously large warp, that should have been changed. The clicks and pops on RTL, even atfter cleaning, are the worst of any of the albums I have bought over that period!

I came across this by chance when buying some old CDs it really is very good indeed with her voice the perfect courier for these "new song"s of hers, almost unbelievably (to me) this album was only her first of original material being released some eleven years after Diva

Dylan's Infidels on vinyl. Some excellent lyrics, and a few mediocre tracks
